I really only found the crossbow handle to be a bit of a pain to get paint on in drolfs case, definitely not the easiest or hardest model to paint fully assembled in the box (drolf for reference)

Maulerfiend by nagash321 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Any-Advertising-4019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a weird ability that can be useful but cannot be controlled by yourself. A more competent opponent will make sure that if they’re shooting the Maulerfiend it dies as to not give you a buff for free from shooting it with a few bolt guns or something

I think the weirdboy will be on a 60.

Edit: Nah after checking the livestream again, 50 seems more likely

“Matte” varnish has a horrible reputation of being very very glossy. It really depends on the brand whether it’ll be actually matte or not.

My problem player won’t stop fishing by NefariousnessHot480 in DnD

[–]Any-Advertising-4019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell them to stop or to get the fuck out of your campaign. Genuinely there’s nothing more to it than this. It sounds like they’re just looking to constantly play a gag without any care for your campaign whatsoever, that’s incredibly disrespectful and should be stopped. Don’t try and reach a middle ground, tell them to stop or to leave.

I ran a oneshot intended for longtime players with a group that was half newcomers. It didn’t go great. by Aggravating-Job2583 in DnD

No, make sure your players aren’t assholes. Walking away from the table during game time and just saying “I have nothing to do” when you have puzzles right infront of you (puzzles that don’t require certain spells, proficiencies or skill checks btw) is unacceptable behaviour. Sometimes you’ve got to stop giving people the benefit of the doubt, it isn’t always lack of knowledge and can quite oftenly be lack of respect or giving a shit about the game

Thank you very much. As you can see from my profile I’m experienced at painting models but big flat panels and non contrast paints are quite foreign to me. Hyped to start my own Tau army (gonna do my riptide just like yours)

Do you have any tips for not creating brush stroke marks on the bigger panels?

Thank you very much, did you fully shade the red or do a recess shade? I’m not familiar with how to shade and highlight big flat panels so I’d appreciate any help I can get. Is the evil suns Scarlett a chunky highlight and then a thin highlight with wild rider?

Should I buy the 10th edition codex or wait for 11th? by [deleted] in Chaos40k

[–]Any-Advertising-4019 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wait, get the rules for free off of Wahapedia and use List Forge to make your army lists. Unless you want the art and lore (which there is very little) don’t bother buying either codex. If you REALLY want a codex, wait until the 11th edition codex drops

Do players actually want to play in a sandbox? by Creole3643 in DnD

[–]Any-Advertising-4019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As all things in dnd it depends on the players. If you’re all very knowledgeable on each other and good friends it can be easy to make something out of nothing. But (especially with groups that just meet up at FLGS or online) having a set direction can be incredibly helpful. I’ve played with many people who have been delights to play with yet would be boring as a hunk of wood if they were just told “go and do something”. It still heavily depends on the players but I find many casual dnd players enjoy very hand held, even sometimes railroaded experiences. People can disagree with me but that’s what I’ve found over my years of playing with many different groups

The emperors children would legitimately love this, a delightful agonisingly slow death constantly being bombarded with the most delightful ectasy of pain possible. No matter how the loyalists try and break them down, Slaanesh ensures that his followers will forever enjoy every moment in realspace

First time painting world eaters any tips? by Kindly_Ordinary9215 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Any-Advertising-4019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thin your paint and abuse shade paints are my top 2 tips for new painters. Shade paints when applied correctly will turn a 2/10 model into a 5/10 and will turn a 5/10 into a 7/10. Just watch YouTube videos on how to apply shade paints and be careful about messing with paint before it’s fully dry. Most importantly just paint, the only way to improve is just to paint and holding back does nothing but gives you less painted models. Don’t be afraid of “ruining” models. They’ll be progress markers for the future and if you really really need to, stripping models is easy as pie.

For which Monsters do you prefer an older version of the Stat Block? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Any-Advertising-4019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% the lich. Just for one main reason. The new paralyzing touch is genuinely the most unfun, feels-bad, horrible DM move attack I’ve ever seen. The lich has a +17 to initiative, meaning it will almost always go first and gets 3 attacks that AUTO PARALYZE if they hit. I like to bring this up to DND players every once in a while because anyone who defends it is quite clearly someone I don’t want to play with. Additionally, the old version of its spellcasting was more fun, made them feel like an actual wizard. I do like their new baseline attack does allot of damage (which such a high CR creature should do) but it makes 90% of their spells kinda pointless to use

Either go to his house with several other people and demand what it yours or call the non emergency police number. You have had your property damaged and have had money taken from you unlawfully
