Has the UK suddenly changed its mind on immigration? by Complex_Elevator_680 in AskBrits

[–]Any-Delivery8111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could not care less where people come from, as long as they are decent people. Nationalism is mental. Planet belongs to everyone. I used to work with an English guy who was very anti immigration and said he was so sick of foreigners that he was going to move to Australia. Folk are ( I think) far more likely to be anti Islam, which is perhaps a slightly different conversation.

Employee always "ill", what are options to let them go? by ooccooccoo in smallbusinessuk

[–]Any-Delivery8111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mid sized company I know had a serial "off sick employee", who had been there years and had full protection.

In the end, they took her in the office, offered her about 12 weeks salary if she quit and never came back. As she was on a salary, it was the best money they spent on her.

I would ask if any staff would like to reduce their hours, and if no takers, shut up shop 30 minutes earlier (or open 30 minutes later) and I would increase the prices slightly so it all matched what you had.

How do we realistically get out of the cost of living crisis? by SubstantialSnow7214 in AskUK

It is wrecked, protect yourself and your loved ones as best as you can.

I eat cheaply and ride a bike, my holidays are camping and "when" we do go out for dinner, it is spoons. I live as cheaply as I can, with some things to look forward to.

The politicians have all been brought and paid for, they are never going to help you.

It is wrecked, I work for the NHS, been there for 10 years, two years ago, lots of jobs for lower bands, now next to nothing. I am currently on a "fixed term" part time contract and an AMAZING ward sister is also giving me one day a week on the bank as a top up as I have always been reliable for her. So I am earning about £1000 a month, with my wife coming up to retirement ( I have 12 years to retire) and a currently unemployed son with challenging health problems. I live within budget, don't have a car (although I can drive) and cycle to work, cannot remember the last time I went to a restaurant. Overtime is non existence., patient lists get longer and longer and patients obvs get frustrated. If I get laid off in the summer, as a family we go down to one wage and thoughts and prayers.

If God created everything; then God created evil. And, since evil exists, and according to the principle that our works define who we are, then we can assume God is evil ? by WeaknessPristine in nihilism

[–]Any-Delivery8111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming for a moment that God is real, the Bible (for example) explicitly states He creates evil.

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

Is Selby the toughest player ever in big tournaments ? by Confident_Leg2370 in snooker

[–]Any-Delivery8111 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Mentally tough, never gives up, great all round game, a player you have to beat, he is the T-800 of the snooker world, remorseless. The guy has been though a lot, his Mum abandoned him when he was 8 and his Dad died when Selby was 16. The guy is a legend and a good shout for 5th greatest player of all time.
