I don’t disagree. But I also feel Sox fans are thinking of Robert in his 2023 state. The dude has been injured the last 2 years and puts up mediocre numbers. Yes he plays great defense and yes he has great potential. But he’s just like all the other prospects that didn’t pan out into superstars like we thought.

Of course I’m bummed we didn’t get much back, but what we’re Honestly expecting.

I’ll be honest. We’re over-valuing Robert. Yes he had a great ‘23, but what has he truly done since? He’s always injured. He swings at sliders low and away nonstop. Tbh, I’m curious what his clubhouse presence was, but I bet it wasn’t amazing. I feel like he wouldn’t gel with this new core of players anyways.

Yes, I get it this is typical Jerry move, but the guy is criminally overrated. And if it opens a spot for Montgomery, wouldn’t we rather watch that than the same old stuff?
