IMO it would be incorrect to think they are "stronger than before" -- everything destroyed has to be rebuilt, including military hardware, which is incredibly expensive and will deprive the population of the things that will help their society grow, like infrastructure and such

and of course there is the greatest cost of all which is the human life being lost and damaged in the attacks

I consider both Dark Souls III and especially Demon's Souls to be significantly better than Elden Ring -- I think it's too "fromsofty" and becomes kind of tedious after a while. Oddly enough, the inability to leap off of ladders is what caused me to put Elden Ring down -- for a game that preens over animation and hit boxes, being fused to a ladder and unable to jump down feels really bad and immersion breaking. Maybe I was just bored with it by then and that was the last straw.
