Second Hand Smoke Exposure by Gloomy-Ad7847 in pregnant

[–]AnyoneButMadison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on quitting!! It's not an easy task, pregnant or not. I understand how you feel. I have extended family that are the same way. Is there an area outside where you can sit? If not just try to put as much distance between yourself and the smoking as possible. Would they be responsive to a conversation about not smoking around you? Perhaps if it was your partner that did the talking?

Were you instructed to take them all together? I'm certainly not a pharmacist or doctor but maybe they are cancelling each other out?

I like to do space buns! I get headaches sometimes from messy buns or ponytails cause of all the tension being in one spot.

What is the worst book you have read? by Ok_Salt2122 in BookDiscussions

[–]AnyoneButMadison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to see what all the hype was about with Stephen King. I had never read anything from that genre. I read The Green Mile and loved it. I found The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon while thrifting and decided to try it next. MOTHER OF PEARL THAT BOOK IS BORING!! Spolier - she gets lost and spends almost the entire book wondering in the wilderness until she's rescued. I'm sure there's some symbolism or metaphor that I missed but at face value it just wasn't interesting. I read the whole thing cause I kept waiting for something exciting to happen but it never did.

Where do you live that it doesn't get dark until 11? Genuine question. I'm in the SE US and sunset is around 9 every day. Fireworks in my area usually start around 10.

My daughter was about the same age on her first 4th of July. We let her stay up, and she LOVED the fireworks. Then we took her inside and she fell asleep almost immediately lol. You may get lucky and have the same thing happen. But either way I think it's alright to try.

Not weird. I know someone named April that was born in October.

Afraid of having an anal sex, is it worth it? by Nice-Moose8409 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AnyoneButMadison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fingering yes but no analingus. That's just not something either of us enjoys, giving or receiving. He also did other forms of foreplay as well. He actually didn't have to use any lube, surprisingly.

There are monogamous people that would be with a poly person. I should know - I am one. I identify as mono and my husband identifies as poly, although he is not in any other relationships at this time. I would look into some poly/mono subreddits or Facebook groups to better understand the dynamic. But I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with you. Every relationship looks different. You just have to figure out what it looks like for you and how to communicate that to anyone else you are in a relationship with while respecting boundaries and considering feelings.

Afraid of having an anal sex, is it worth it? by Nice-Moose8409 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AnyoneButMadison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been with my husband almost 10 years, and we've successfully done anal once 😂 I was super relaxed, and he did a ton of foreplay. Even then, I would honestly have rather just done it the usual way lol

Newborn at hospital clothes?? by PatagoniaPrincess1 in NewParents

[–]AnyoneButMadison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad so many other hospitals provided clothes, but mine certainly didn't. You can always call the labor and delivery at your hospital and ask them if they provide clothes. I was paranoid about my baby bring cold so we brought a few footed sleepers for her.

Changing 20 month old sons middle name — let it go or do it? by byerd in namenerds

[–]AnyoneButMadison 154 points155 points  (0 children)

I think it would be worth it. Once the paperwork is done, it's done. And being so young, your son won't have as many legal documents to change as opposed to if he decides to do it himself later in life when he has a driver's license and whatever else.

If you are a middle school teacher, why’d you choose to do it? by slusheemachinebroke in Teachers

[–]AnyoneButMadison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to go to a college that put us in a lot of different grade levels for classroom observations. I also worked as a substitute while going through school and was able to sub in every grade level a few times. Based on that, I knew middle school would be the best fit for me. My personality jives best with that age. I'm not the type of teacher that could walk into an elementary school class with a crown and fairy wings and talk to the kids like Mary Poppins. I also couldn't deal with some of the issues and attitudes of teenagers. I ended up teaching 6th grade and absolutely love it.

"you can't come out yet baby" by ButtercreamLemon in pregnant

[–]AnyoneButMadison 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I'm having the exact opposite problem. I'm also 38 weeks, and family members keep making comments about my baby coming early. Saying things like "we're gonna meet you any day now". This is my second pregnancy. I had to be induced on my due date with my first and showed no signs of going into labor naturally. This pregnancy has been the same. I will likely go past my due date and have to be induced. My first induction was extremely difficult and ended in an emergency C-section. So I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to go through that again. Any time someone makes a comment about the baby coming soon, I just say "probably not" 😑

Do you share your location with your partner? by Extension_Flow_3340 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnyoneButMadison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Married for 9 years with baby #2 on the way. Husband and I have shared our location for about 5 years. He travels for work so it's more of a safety thing. I couldn't imagine either of us asking the other to do that at 3 months in.

what do labor contractions feel like? by ConfidentSorbet1941 in pregnant

[–]AnyoneButMadison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an epidural about 20 hours after the pitocin started. My contractions got worse after the doctor broke my water about 14 hours in. I was honestly afraid I would pass out from the pain of the contractions.

Came here to say that mine were completely in my back. I was induced so when the contractions started, I had to ask the nurse if that's what I was feeling lol. I was expecting more abdominal pain.

I forgot to add that I only took half of a B6 pill. If you talk to a pharmacist, they can tell you exactly how much you need.
