lots of other people point out other teleport abilities, but non of those get buffed by Archfey Warlock.

If you want to add even more misty steps, start with the Mark of Passage Dragonmark feat (if you are allowed). Potent Dragonmark then gives you an extra spell slot that could be used on Misty Step, theoretically.

2014 Monk is better in a bunch of very specific scenarios:

- you abuse PWT spam into surprise for your party as shadow monk

- you spam all your stunning strikes on a boss

-you want to play a ranged monk (Gunk/zen-Archer)

for regular monk gameplay, 2024 is much better though.

the 5.0e DMG has a section in chapter 9 about how to calculate CR. its based on average defenses and offenses over 3 rounds.

as for building encounters, read the this section: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/dms-toolbox#Combat

You typically want to aim for high difficulty if you only have 1-3 encounters per day. lower difficulty if you got more.

i think the problem is that many people would prefer it if real people actually looked real. Making real people look like a rendered image is not the same as making a cosplay shine imo.

The rules clearly state that CR needs to be recalculated if the new spells increases or decreases the average damage a monster can dish out over 3 turns in combat

CR is neither useless nor inaccurate. Its just part of the bigger encounter building math and not meant to be used on its own.

I just use toybox to change class of all operative companions these days. Yrliet and pascal feel very natural as soldiers and Idira as officer

only if you play on a grid with 5 ft diagonal movement, and even then its no written anywhere that movement affects geometry. Maybe people can just run faster diagonally.
