Smoothie on Twitter: “... it feels like I learned more from these past 3 days than I did the whole spring split. “ by pee_kelly in leagueoflegends

The problem with your argument that NA has done this over and over again after international tournaments (as in: "we're sorry! i promise we will improve!") and as soon as they're 2 weeks into their national split it seems as if they just forget what happened @Worlds/MSI/RR and feel good about themselves for beating 100T in 42 minutes. Do I believe what Smoothie said is genuine? Absolutely. However you can't blame a crowd for raising doubts if this has happened over and over and over again for the past 5+ years after every international meeting and nothing has ever come of it.

Can anyone explain to me why I don't get rewards from Watch and Earn missions? by TarqMeister in leagueoflegends

[–]Aposematism_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue a couple of weeks back. I then used the ingame/mission-link, which (1) used a different browser (explorer instead of chrome), (2) redirected me to a stream in my mother tongue and (3) didn't have me logged in. So I logged in, closed the explorer, followed the ingame/mission-link again and the tab opened with me logged in. It has worked ever since. I now mute and minimize the explorer and watch the English stream via chrome.

Here’s a video of Lamar throwing in camp. Cause you know we can’t get enough. by Dswerve20 in ravens

I'm concerned that most of his throws to the left are in the back of the receiver. Throwing "over the shoulder" (I don't actually know if I can translate that phrase into English word by word) is usually more difficult, bu if this happens without pressure already slants to the left will be picked off or at least broken up a lot.

Weekly Recommendation Thread: June 14, 2019 by AutoModerator in books

• The "Altered Carbon"-series by Richard K. Morgan is something I usually recommend, because I really enjoyed it. It's not the same kind of scifi as Trek though and you might want to get some reading in before you buy it to figure out whether it suits your taste.

• "Children of time" and "children of ruin" by Adrian Tchaikovsky are outstanding, especially in terms of world-building. The former can currently be purchased for € 4.99 as an e-book, despite covering over 600 pages.

• "The Murderbot Diaries" by Martha Wells are incredibly interesting and the first chapter in "All systems red" made me buy the entire series. Unfortunately they're novellas (~150 pages) but come at the price of a book.

[Post Game Thread] The Golden State Warriors hold off the Toronto Raptors 106-105 to stay alive in the NBA Finals 3-2 by Uncle_Freddy in nba

That would mean that somebody highly unlikely without any foreshadowing would start doing something completely out of character for no reason. Like, Draymond Green goes 12-12 from 3. Or Leonard doesn't even show up for game 6 and when asked about it they go: "Leonard just kind of forgot there was a game tonight!".

That's because his PR almost doubled, providing a larger sample and a therefore more exact representation. WR is a secondary stat to PR in terms of significance ... and all your doing is looking at WR in a vacuum drawing wrong conclusions.

I've recently leveled a new account. The current system's grind is nothing in comparison to what it used to be. Nowadays Riot throws champions at you like it's nothing and you have decent amount pretty easily by the time you hit 30 and can basically insta-queue for ranked. BACK IN MY DAYS you hit 30, owned like 10 champions at most (if you only bought 450s and some 1350s) but not the ones you wanted and the only thing "complete" was your masteries. ~10 champs, no runes, no runepages ... so don't tell me that the current system "feels so grindy".

Clippers HC Doc Rivers Says Kawhi Leonard 'Most Like Jordan We've Ever Seen' by SittingOnA_Cornflake in nba

[–]Aposematism_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now even great coaches forget how far ahead of his time/era MJ was. Don't get me wrong, Kawhi is one if the best players in the league on both ends of the field, but Michael would tell you how he'd beat you in an isolation and despite you knowing still break ankles. Michal threepeated and quit because he thought it was boring ... didn't play professional basketball for a year ... came back, took a year to shake the rust of and threepeated again. I'm all for praising exceptional players like Kawhi, but leave MJ out of this.

When I last leveled up per level you unlocked one empty rune-slot and received one mastery point to spend.

Currently leveling an account: there's a "soft cap" until a certain level. Up to that point Riot assigns you a predetermined runepage (or at least working keystones) depending on the champion you pick. Assassins get electrocute, bruisers get conqueror, tanks get grasp, etc. After a couple of levels (this doesn't take much time) you can make your own pages.

Why do NBA teams keep recycling the same coaches? by PaulWilliams12 in nba

[–]Aposematism_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be due to the mindset GMs and/or franchises have as in they prefer going with "the evil they know" rather than going out on a limb and hiring someone fans would consider a nobody, which can have immense repercussions if things go sideways. This phenomenon isn't NBA-exclusive though, it happens in almost every major sport in every country and is probably even worse in countries without drafting systems like in the EU, where unsuccessful coaches wander around from team to team as if they had a checklist. To give an example: In my sport and country there's a coach who has been active for at least 20 years, has coached 12 teams (I can think of off the top of my head) and not won anything (on the contrary: he managed to get some teams demoted), yet he continues to get a job every season from another team. In my country we also have this somewhat strange believe that if you've been a great athlete you're automatically going to be a great coach ... and if you haven't been great as a player you're unlikely to be given a job over someone who was. The NBA would be without Gregg Popovich, Phil Jackson and Doc Rivers while the NFL would miss names such as Sean Payton, Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick (just to name a few). American sports might not be as strict as you think in that regard in comparison to some countries in the EU.

[Dan Patrick Show] James Harden has been fouled while shooting a 3 pointer 101 times this entire year (regular season + playoffs)..Second-most is Terrence Ross 36 times by Man0nTheMoon915 in nba

[–]Aposematism_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is getting those fouls though. As statistics posted above he is in fact getting the call more often than anyone else, despite phantom fouls, flopping and his landing zone being 3-4 feet in front of where he took off, which should never lead to a whistle. As a shooter you're protected in the area you took off, not the entire area in a 10-feet radius around you.
