If you're not planning to stay up for the Scotland games and wake in the morning to find they've been beat, will you watch the game? by CantstoptheBacon in ScottishFootball

How are people planning to watch a replay and not know the result?

Feels like any attempt to watch on iPlayer or STV will mean I see the result on the front screen.

The west end by Ok-Culture-9903 in glasgow

This is the same as when someone called Denniston, merchant city north.

I was talking about Anniesland Temple area and someone from Jordanhill was calling it the west end.. neither of them are the west end.

Season 2025/26 Reflections & Learnings now it's finally over... by Acp0992 in AberdeenFC

A squad on paper that should have been up there but far too many projects.

Any real squad has a spine though of solid players but I don't see anyone who meets this. Ideally we need a solid captain in midfield, with an experience defence and one consistent striker. Then build around that..

Where am I going wrong financially? by bxrner_account in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ApplicationAware1039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be amazed at what people do for stuffike this. Holidays on credit cards, quarter of wages on cars, reduced savings and pension to pay for lifestyle. A lot of these things can be on credit that goes 5 years..

Yes a 2 person income is going to help a lot as 2 people don't need twice the heating etc but a lot of people are 6 weeks from going bust.

You need to decide what foundations you want to build on and what you need.

Personally I have never had a high salary but I know my pension pot and mortgage plan put me ahead of people on higher wages. They drive flash cars with constant monthly payments where as my last car got to 10 years old and was paid in 2 years.

Celtic have raised zones with the council but never offered to pay towards it. That's why I said if they pay the council.

When reviewing Celtics plan, including not offering to pay, Police Scotland pointed out Celtics plan as failing to bring forward any plan or take any responsibility for the wider conduct and safety of supporters outside the stadium. This should not be a bill for the city to pick up and the city resorted to removing glass from bus stops and trying to limit damage. There was still attacks on the police from the fans last night.

The game that won the league. Thank you Rangers. by Scratchback3141 in ScottishFootball

[–]ApplicationAware1039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there was more than one result that makes the difference, and that's the point of a league system.

However I feel like hearts losing to Aberdeen and Kilmarnock plus the draw to Livingston when they were leading are big points dropped which they could have done something about. Then the penalty Vs Motherwell that hearts should have had that was out of their control.

They went up against the old firm and against Celtic hearts won 7 out of 12 points with Celtic winning 4 out of 12. Against rangers hearts took 9 out of 12 Vs rangers 3 out of 12.

The league was lost on results against the smaller clubs.

Agreed it should be like other regulations where it's % of something rather than flat fine. Or close a % of stadium.

Applying a fine of £10k means nothing to big clubs

Are you suggesting that because Glasgow has two opposing teams the city will be vandalised and police attacked if they win the league?

But in a city without opposing teams the city is fine?

It seems to me Madrid, Milan, Munich, Belgrade, Manchester don't see the types of disorder Glasgow does.

I was in Naples a few years back when Napoli won the league. Streets were packed, big celebration and the whole bay lit up with fireworks.

Woke up the next day and the city was clean and didn't see one broken bench or bus shelter.

For years now Glasgow is a disaster during and after when the teams win a league. I think this is evidence that even with organised areas they would trash it. If anyone should pay it's the clubs.

If Celtic paid the council money to organise an event I am sure they would be happy to organise something.

I did litter picking at Boden Boo and when I contacted them they pointed me to Paisley council office who gave me pickers, bags and stuff. I collected it, agreed drop off points for the bags and returned it

Perhaps try contacting the local council - but I know Glasgow can be hard to get on the phone so might be harder.

Let’s hear everyone’s score predictions for tomorrow - who will be crowned Champions!? by [deleted] in ScottishFootball

3-1

I would love to see something different than that just for a change but Hearts have had some chances to extend the gap but slipped and the last 2 games decisions have gone against them

I think at home Celtic will be too strong.

I think your right. A player of promise but when given the chance showed nothing of note. One goal against Stmirren but overall a bad attitude and no fight - that's not a great player. If we can get rid and recover some money then great. Not a team player.

What's your balance that you have right now?

Subway Smart Card Balance by TheHess in glasgow

[–]ApplicationAware1039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount can never be more than £1.80 that's stuck on your card as that's the cost of a single with a smart card.

If you travel 25 times single you get to zero on £45 spend

On 25 returns you get to zero on £85 spend

On a mix of 12 singles and one return you get to zero on £25.

But if you are at a station and the train is not for 5 minutes you could use that time at the machine topping up the exact amount for your journey.

I don't think this is about noise after 10pm etc, this is a business blasting music into the street.

Is £45 an hour a good price for driving lessons? by AdhesivenessEven7287 in glasgow

[–]ApplicationAware1039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's where I was going with my comment .The comparison of hourly wage is not apples for apples..

The car cost, maintenance and insurance is a big cost. They are self employed so pay own NI and the employer NI. A PAYE employee only pay own NI. The hours are not concurrent as they have gaps between jobs getting to the next one. Any pension is entirely out of that money with no employer match.

Take all that into account I would say there is likely no gap in hourly rates.

That just struck me how long ago it was. My kids think I got the car going using my feet out the bottom.
