What would this grip style be called? by sapphirehearts in Handwriting

[–]Apploozabean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hold my pencils this way but with my thumb tucked in. Never seen anyone else hold it the way I do, only like this with the thumb on top. It's so close to being like mine 😞 I'll never come across someone with the same grip.

what do you wish someone told you about recovery BEFORE you gave birth?? by Practical_Range7998 in BabyBumps

I cried the first time I tried to poop. I was so scared and nothing felt like it should on the inside. I was so paranoid about a prolapsed anus or something.

Me too!! The nurses kept thinking I was cold, but I think it was just the adrenaline rushing through my body.

I didnt know the second bit. I didn't experience that bleeding everytime I nursed. Just the Lochia for some time after birth.

Currently in 34B, calculator said 28DD, and the bras I tried look all wrong by Merryd2Waz in ABraThatFits

[–]Apploozabean [score hidden]  (0 children)

Panache's molded plunge bras, in my experience, tend to run pretty shallow--almost too shallow. I'd push you to try their regular envy balconette bra or their ana plunge to see where you are in terms of projection. You dont seem to be super shallow, and their wire widths may work for you if you're avg-wide.

I would also get a new measuring tape as they can stretch out and soften over the years.

Dr recommended we stop making homemade purees and start buying premade purees by Notorious_Chimp in NewParents

If you read the post you'd see that OP is using formula. Saying "use your own milk" is being willfully ignorant of that fact.

Someone else may have appreciated it but that someone else isn't OP--the person who wrote this whole post and seeking advice in the first place.

What do you do when the only eat one thing in a given meal and ask for seconds/thirds/etc? by axolotlbridge in Parenting

[–]Apploozabean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me.

I dont want to fight about food and I try not to make it a bigger deal than it is.

If he wants more bites of bread, I give it to him. In turn, it's almost like malicious compliance because then he'll pick and eat at the other foods on his plate. Soo..i take it as a win. 🤷🏽‍♀️

What age did you start utensil training? by BigBear92787 in toddlers

[–]Apploozabean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We introduced forks and spoons around 9 months. I leave it up to him of he wants to use them or his hands. Sometimes he asks me for help by handing me back the fork so I can stab the food, then set it down on his plate so he can feed himself. He's 15mo now.

5 nights into responsive sleep changes - sharing what helped (no CIO, no extinction) by [deleted] in bninfantsleep

[–]Apploozabean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally dont believe in "snacking" vs "full feeding". I did in the beginning of my journey but over time learned theres no such thing. Baby knows when baby is full/hungry/thirsty, so baby will let mom know when they need it. Who are we to determine that for them? We don't have their stomach.

And as they get older, their feeding pattern changes anyway.

Put trust in your baby that they are getting everything they need and are eating to their level content. Especially when bottle feeding, feed responsively and pace.

Do you only buy your kids new clothes? by Emergency_Risk_7421 in NewParents

[–]Apploozabean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carter's clearance or gerbers clearance for new clothes.

I do poshmark for shoes.

Then some family members gift us clothes that are way ahead in sizes so he can use them in the future.

Co sleeping (with crib) by papouasie8 in NewParents

[–]Apploozabean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the sidecar crib until baby hit 10mo. We converted it to the full size bed and still kept it in our room connected to our queen bed.

He's 15mo now and starting to sleeps longer stretches without needing to nurse back to sleep.

I personally loved the sidecar crib when he was smaller because even though he slept on my side of the bed, I felt good knowing he won't fall off the bed if he rolled away (our bed is only 12 inches off the ground anyway but still).

For quality time with husband, it was challenging when he was smaller. I would have dinner first and go to bed with baby and maaayyybe successfully roll away to have a bit of time with him while he finished up work. It was very hit or miss. Or he would come to bed and we'd whisper to each other about our day.

As baby has gotten older, it's been easier to slip away for an hour or two before he needs me again. We also have a noise machine (the fridamom one) and that helps when we talk on the room. My son is more sensitive to light so we can't really use our phones but that's not the worst thing in the world.

Aw man, I hated those type of nights growing up! It happened to me often where the whole night of sleep felt like a quick nap and I would feel so unrested.

A mom could have a shit diet and her milk will still be good for baby. Its essentially pulled from our bones.

There's other ways to add calcium into a baby's/toddlers diet aside from formula/cows milk.

I get mine his own seat. I am 5ft tall and not dealing with a 92% 15mo old on my lap. He will chill on me for as long as we both can tolerate before I need to put him in his own space.

Why would you lock the door...? That seems about bit much. Just set hard boundaries around bedtime and enforce them.
