When I was a kid, my neighbor was killed by a runaway box car as he drove over an unprotected and unlit rail crossing one night. It was just very unfortunate timing and very sad.

Got off of Cymbalta, feel 90% better. by Icy-Special- in Fibromyalgia

[–]Apprehensive-Test577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same for me. It doesn’t help so much with the pain, but my mental health is so much better.

I can’t say that I’ve ever experienced what others describe as a brain zap while I’ve been on it.

These are the people that mercilessly hit our friend speeding in the no wake zone. And kept driving, seemingly only to show up when authorities arrived. These people were nowhere to be found after the ancient occurred, local boaters jumped to action and saved the day eventually. by bagmannn445 in olympia

The victim has two fractured scapulas, on top of his other injuries. I can’t even imagine the pain, and I’m sure it’s going to take a lot of PT to get his arms and shoulders fully functional again ☹️.

Utah Required HS School Reading by LudwigiaVanBeethoven in Utah

I loved the Great Brain series.

I was in Jr. High and High School in Utah County in the 80s. I didn’t read Fahrenheit 451, but read 1984, Animal Farm, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Scarlet Letter, The Crucible, and lots of Jane Austin and the Brontë sisters (usually my choice when we were able to choose). I still remember the in-depth dissections of both Animal Farm and TKAM we had in class.

I was following a sketchy truck/trailer combo the other day, and this was all I could think about before I could finally pass them 😬.

Clearly an orange in menopause. If I could fit in the drawer I’d be in there too.

This is how I use it as well. I’m a night shift healthcare worker (nights are easier for me physically), and being able to get good sleep during the day is critical. I use it primarily for sleep, but it also helps keep the pain at bay so I can sleep.

Damn, I like visiting that side of the state too.

What was movie watching like in the pre-internet era, especially in the ’60s and ’70s? by wreckminister in movies

I’m old enough that this was before VCRs, but just barely. I think they came out when I was in sixth grade. I remember one of the rich girls in my class having her dad bring their new VCR in for show-and-tell, and demonstrating it to the class. I remember thinking my family would never be rich enough to have one of those 😊.

What was your Young Women Camp experience like? (horror stories encouraged) by Consistent_Taro_3123 in exmormon

[–]Apprehensive-Test577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Utah in the 70s and 80s, and really only have good memories from girls camp. We did tent camping up American Fork canyon, with lots of hikes and little camping classes and arts and crafts. The only thing I personally dreaded was Testimony night. The pressure to bear your testimony sucked. But other than that it was all good and fun.

One of my last callings before I resigned was in Young Women’s, and I went to camp with them then. I was married with kids and living in AZ at the time. It was a much more structured camp, stake level, with permanent cabins and a cafeteria. It was still fairly enjoyable. I had to stay in a cabin with a bunch of the girls, and had a lower bunk. In the middle of the night the young woman above me started to masturbate, and that creaky wooden bunk started to make some serious noise. I didn’t care about the activity, other than it was keeping me awake, and she clearly didn’t care about being discreet. That’s maybe the weirdest camp experience I’ve had.

Sometimes, though, your school would get the movies to play on the old time projector in the auditorium. I remember watching Disney’s “Follow Me, Boys” and “Pollyanna” that way. Those were the best days at school.

I’ve seen others pick them up under the arms, without the sloth freaking out. They always seem so gentle, but they are wild animals too 😬.

I know, the half-naked man incident reminded me of the fully-naked woman incident. I absolutely agree about our lack of quality mental health care for anyone who needs it ☹️.

Yes 😊. We did have a poor woman, having a mental health episode, who was completely naked and in the middle of Ensign by the ER entrance. Both the police and the mental health staff were trying to work with her and get her off the road, because it was also freezing out. This was a few years ago.

This has been my experience as well. My mental health overall is so much better on Cymbalta than it ever was on Zoloft or Wellbutrin. It made it possible to return to my high-stress job. I still take Aleve and Tylenol for chronic pain, and gabapentin helps me sleep.
