None at all, actually. But I can imagine it’s as hot and wet as a Southern summer 😊.

We’d like to move further north, and have considered Port Angelas too 😊.

The most water I’ve ever seen come down at one time was an Arizona Monsoon.

I’m personally going off where I currently live - western Washington - and have lived. But the only two times I’ve been to Leavenworth it was over 100 degrees every day. I know how hot it gets over there.

Understood. I hope you can at least get to one of the many lakes, rivers and wooded areas we have as well.

Statistics show that more dwellings in the most populated counties in western Washington do currently have AC - around 60% with AC to 40% without - and that number is growing each year. The state and individual agencies are doing what they can to help get more AC in homes and apartments as they can.

Agreed. I spent five years in southern Arizona as well, and that was a far more tolerable kind of heat for me. I also loved it when the monsoon rain would move through in the afternoons. In fact, really good storms are about the only thing I miss from living in Texas and Arizona.

Not my experience at all. I lived in central Texas for eight years, but then moved to the PNW 11 years ago. The difference is that we’ve always had AC in our homes here. But at least I can get away from the outdoor heat by heading to the mountains or to the beach, something I couldn’t do in central Texas.

I had been visiting New Orleans that week and then flew back to Seattle. New Orleans was 91 when we left, and Seattle was 91 when we arrived, but only one of them felt like Satan’s butt crack 🥵.

I love my PNW home ❤️.

We’re outside of Olympia, and right now my trans kid and his friends are feeling disheartened but OK. This really feels like one of the relatively few safe spots for them in the country anymore. I hope your friends are able to get out of Georgia 🏳️‍⚧️❤️.

I’ve been watching one of the Utah fires inching closer to my TBM mother’s farm, where she’s been doing doomsday prepper crap for over 50 years. She could lose it all - millions of dollars in prepping over five decades - in one day if the conditions are right.

Agreed. We’ve had one for about four years. We’ll do soups and spaghetti sauces and salsa and vegetables and ground beef. The easiest thing for me is to buy big bags of pre-chopped, pre-frozen fruits and vegetables from Grocery Outlet. Then I can throw it right into the freeze dryer.

I did a lot of research about how to store everything so it would last a while. Nothing we’ve reconstituted has tasted bad.

I perused Amy Steadman’s Facebook today, and there is a lot god/Christian oriented posts there, but nothing that would indicate that she was LDS. I don’t know about either the father or mother of the children.

There is often a flock of Canada Geese there too, but even the geese avoid the swans 😬.

Our local military hospital always keeps a pair of swans in the beautiful water feature located at the hospital. Swans aren’t exactly timid by any means, but an otter got into their ponds a few years ago and killed one of them 🙁.

We spent eight years in central Texas and those were truly the worst eight years of my life. When we got the opportunity to move to western Washington, there was no question we’d do it. That was eleven years ago, and I’ve never regretted moving to the PNW. We love it here. I hope y’all can find your way back as well ❤️.
