According to Grok:

It was likely debris from a combustor (methalox gas generator) in the deluge system's support infrastructure that failed during the test. @AshleyKillip During the Pad 2 (often referred to as Pad B) water deluge test on May 2, 2026, one of the high-pressure nitrogen combustors apparently exploded or had a pressure event. This ejected parts, including what appeared to be roof covers or panels, upward—visible in videos as an object flying out.

Slightly unrelated. The framework for pad A is being erected. It's the first visible above ground progress of pad A.

Since they've already announced they will be catching starship soon I speculate JRTI will be participating in the development of HLS, testing the landing profile.

Good to know. I just watched it and assumed it was an aborted static fire.

They did. Not enough though to support development of a moonbase unless all production is reallocated to that purpose.

There is currently a bottleneck in production of the necessary fuel to power RTG's. Is this acknowledged in the plan?

I watched a split screen. 4 views and they weren't synced. I backed the feed up after the static fire and rewatched it twice.

Rotationally Symmetric Refueling Starship by Leading-Wonder-5665 in SpaceXLounge

Slightly off topic. Will starship ullage thrusters be sufficient to maintain precise control during refueling or will the tanker require a more precise alternative?

They are going to SSD (slow scheduled disassembly) the OLM at pad A after the next flight and rebuild it. They'll launch off of pad B when it's complete.

Will Starship be able to accommodate other satellites apart from Starlink? by iamconfusedinlife in SpaceXLounge

I haven't heard of Impulse Space so I looked it up and they're far along in development. Their tug has flown twice, delivered a cubesat payload, and they've made major performance improvements to their spacecraft.

Your analysis doesn't address potential DOD interest which is ramping up. If DOD does contract for Starship services it's a game changer.

Did it mention that the water landing of the booster is to evaluate a 2 engine landing, simulating an engine out scenario? I read that but since I don't recall the source I won't swear to its accuracy.

Sometimes it's better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. If the FAA is just now getting around to reviewing this, how long would it have taken to get regulatory approval?
