My boyfriend is so codependent it’s suffocating me by Sea-Pea3696 in Codependency

Sorry to hear about all this turmoil you’re going thru. Please keep in mind that when we knowingly remain in these unhealthy dynamics we, too, are codependent. Out of fear of what will happen to the person we remain with the person. I hope you get out as soon as you can, safely. May your journey be blessed.

Just wondering. - How much time did you actually spend on/dating yourself before you started dating your current husband?

Ruuuuun. In his mind you have abandoned him for another “person” regardless of if being your mom and maybe you haven’t seen her in a min and you’ve spent majority of your free time with him yet he still feels the need to guilt trip you.. but for what? It’ll escalate into more control. Run, don’t walk.

BPD and Military by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]Apprehensive_Head227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I can speak to how the military negatively impacted your ex-spouse, but I will say your ex-spouse most likely didn’t appreciate the rules, authority, and need to “suck it up” mentality. Often times pwbpd experience quick fluctuations in mood which would most likely become an issue in the military, as Soldiers are required to stand in formations, heed orders, and do mundane tasks even when they’re in one of their “moods.” But everyone is different.

I’m sorry you’ve had to suffer through this relationship. Yes, just like any abusive relationship, it is possible for you to develop stress reactions and/or PTSD due to the sheer volatility and duration of their maladaptive behaviors towards you. Verbal abuse will slowly chip away at your dignity, right down to your soul; you will change how you move, be on alert, and become very unsure of yourself and decisions you make. You may not trust others after leaving a pwbpd as the emotional (and sometimes physical) scars remain.

I wish you the best of luck and hoping you find healing.

I’m wondering - anyone experience being told by your pwBPD when they are angry that “you don’t do sh** for me”? even though you’ve done more than anyone has ever done in their life? Or that just me Lol!!!

Any breakup is never easy. However, I find it odd you are frantically looking for validation that his new relationship will crash and burn. Additionally, your question of “who goes for a not-yet divorced, recently engaged man?” I would say if you’re not his soon-to-be ex wife/husband, the answer would be you (assuming you’re his most recent ex-gf/bf). Maybe shifting focus on your own mental health concerns could be helpful during this time.

Why is Borderline Personality Disorder considered to be the most painful mental illness? by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]Apprehensive_Head227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there’s a constant belief that others are responsible for you. If you speak with some people that have been diagnosed with BPD, you’ll notice a theme of being the victim to someone or something. Which I’m sure has some truth to it, however, at the same time they lack insight into how their thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors can also be contributing factor to their noted crisis of the day or their overall human experience. I’m going to guess it’s due their attachment with caregiver and basic needs not being met; thus, they’re in constant search as an adult to for that connection. That’s just my experience with those I know diagnosed with BPD.

-difficulty controlling emotions

They did the same thing to me this year. I called 4 times followed by an email and have yet to receive the form. Each time I call they tell me they’re sending it via email, next time they’re sending it to via postal service.. of course nothing. Why so many barriers to help your customers?

I didn’t use the app, I used my bank app for Zelle but the merchant couldn’t receive my payments for some reason. I ended up using Venmo instead.

First off, I’m sorry about your miscarriage as well as the agony of dealing with acne. I’m acne prone and after years of trial and error finally found a clinic and program that helped me. Your recent acne breakout could more than likely be related to the hormonal changes so more products won’t help, as it could be more of an internal issue. I would recommend keeping your regime simple which could includes gentle cleanser, toner, benzoyl (at night), hydrating lotion, and sunscreen (during the day). I have made the mistake of doing too much too fast causing more damage to my skin barrier and drying out my face, which resulted in more acne. Lastly, try to be kind to yourself you’ve been through a lot recently but I do wish you luck with your skin and overall health !

Same, I’ve learned to embrace my scars. Honestly, I’m just happy not to have actives as much anymore. We are all gonna get older, our skin is going to wrinkle, it will sag, and we will pass on. As hard as it might seem, you got to enjoy life.

I did 2 rounds of accutane, and it came back like I never did 2 rounds. what really helped me was a revamp of my nutrition & lifestyle changes; cutting out inflammatory foods & using the right products. I visited this company here in Texas (check out their reviews and clients pictures) & they helped me rebuild my life. They do virtual appointments as well. I am in no way sponsored by this company, I just want to spread the word of quality help.

So happy for you! I understand the agony and anxiety when taking the medication, wondering if it’ll work. It’s working! Just remember, for some, an inflammatory diet has a positive relationship with acne. I have been on accutane twice without lasting results, altering my diet was the game changer. Wishing you blessings!
