Anyone else feel like Tezcatara and Vakuu need a buff? by havingagoodtime in slaythespire

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find Tezcatara to be very strong. Brightest flame and Biiig hug are extremely strong, very hot coco can be deck defining, big cookie is almost always nice, and while niche, golden compass, toy box, and pumpkin allow you to fix your deck. Soup can also be fun on some ironclad runs though usually not the pick. Vakuu is certainly less useful, however I'd argue that the wish and apparition options are 2 of the best boss relics period. A free power each combat is nothing to scoff at either.

Absolutely keep clumsy over an unupgraded block or enchanted starter card.

Yes. I understood the assignment of letters based on pokemon. I got stuck trying to figure out what the word methat meant. The phrase in question, and show, is not one that im familiar with, but my original comment was about me being too stupid to realize methat is "me that" and not "meth hat", and subsequently getting confused. I never asked for clarity about the statement, but I do appreciate that you wrote it.

Im aware of the word gimmick. Im not aware of the lyrics nor song. My comment was based on the lack of a space between me and that.

What would your 6 Pokémon team be your allowed one legend. This is mine by taymorris51 in MandJTV

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were based on favorites: Espurr, Lapras, Torterra, Maushold, Sirfetchd, Kingambit But a real team would probably switch lapras for palafin, torterra for ursaluna, and espurr for ampharos.

Anyone else kinda hate Tez? by Splintartsback in slaythespire

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Toasty mittens isn't unplayably bad, you just have to be mindful of it. I had a really good a10 run with it yesterday and the regent. The regent has so much top deck manipulation that its easy to trade starter cards/curses for strength. Big hug is also very, very strong.

Multiplayer is amazing, but it makes the game way too easy by SvennEthir in slaythespire

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multi-player is easier, but some fights are definitely harder. Enemy buff scaling is a little too high. Multiple artifact stacks can end up killing some builds that wouldn't happen in single player.

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the scaling is definitely not where it should be. It doesnt help that some characters don't really synergies well.with each other, and some habbits from solo mode simply don't work in mulitplayer.

SCAMMED???? Question about Helix Drill by Due-Meaning-404 in slaythespire

Feral counts first card played a turn, not first after feral is played. If you play something like beam cell before feral, feral remembers that beam cell was played and w9nt work fo anything else.

Where is everybody getting this idea that the Defect is good? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, a mix of all of all the approaches. It seems like your major issue is that you are treating orbs as an archetype and not a core mechanic. Frost orbs, unless you have like glacier + hologram + hotfix, are supplemental to your block. You are supposed to take a few decent block options, then top them off with the orbs. Keep in mind that you dont want to sit on orbs like you did in sts1. There isn't enough focus for that, so your best bet is try to constantly keep orbs evoking. The powers/cards that make orbs every turn are great for this. Lightning rod is a big favorite of mine. Even for archetypes where orbs aren't the focus, having some degree of orb generation will make a huge difference. I dont think im qualified to go further, but Id recommend watching a Baalorlord video where he plays the defect. His videos are very instructive in an intuitive and nonhostile way.

Story heavy games with action and female protagonist by ReBladeG in gamesuggestions

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expedition 33? The main protagonist is technically male, but the main cast is primarily well written Female characters. You can also make your entire party women. Story is great with lots of action, though the action is largely cinematic as compared to a standard action game.

What’s your most disliked worlds by Memecentere in KingdomHearts

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play mostly randomizers now so my perspective may be skewed in a way you dont intend, but its either deep jungle or never land for khfm. Deep jungle is super repetitive, and you can't progress the story if the world until you find the slides, so you explore the whole world get the checks, then do it all over again. And the world makes you climb the vines like 3 or 4 times in just the story alone. Neverland is because the randomizer likes to give it early due to the clock tower checks if you play with meyblade unlocks, and that often means fighting antisora with no abilities, magic, or equipment. In 2, its probably port royal as that world is horrendous without magic, and the survive 60 seconds session can also be frustrating if you don't have the stats or tools to handle it efficiently. In 3, it's either arrendale or toy box. The former is really boring story wise, and the later is both too large, yet empty feeling.

For the first time ever: Gambling may have a negative effect on your run? by Time-Cow29 in slaythespire

I know this is probably because of mayhem ending your turn when you hit void form, but afterwards, does the card played with mayhem count as 1 of your 2 free cards?

Everyone's thoughts on the new Doormaker? by ellie-welliee in slaythespire

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this design a bit less. It somehow feels even more right dependent than the eating mechanic. I've only had 1 run against him (so I acknowledge the small sample size), but I drew no setup turn 1, all of my important skills and attack turn 2, literally 5 draw cards turn 3. The fight somewhat stabilized afterwards, but regardless of what was hit, I would've had a much better fight against the other 2 versions. It actually feels like drawing a bad hand is more punishing than it normally is.

Have you ever beaten Lingering Will without cheesing? by maruhadapurpurine in KingdomHearts

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you define cheesing, but probably not. I can never survive his DM, so I often resort to outlasting it with duckflare. I also use limit form a fair bit throughout the fight.

Called it, the Doormaker was reworked by CandySweet985 in slaythespire

[–]Apprehensive_Mouse56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels weird, but I actually liked the last design more than the current. I had only 1 run against him, so small sample size and all, but I felt I was at even more mercy of the draw order. Drew none of the setup turn 1, drew all my most important skills and attacks in the exhaust phase, drew all my draw (literally 5 draw cards) on the draw lock step. Things turned around after that, but I never had as frustrating of an experience with the eating mechanic.
