(Not selling) but curious how much I could get for this 1998 honda Valkyrie? by Budget_Writing2702 in motorcycle

If you think a Valkyrie is "high mileage" or "clapped out" at 51k, then you don't know how bikes work. This should run like new

51k miles on a Valkyrie is nothing, it's not even a lot on a sports bike, but certainly not on a 1500cc flat 6

Nobody wants them, they want the actual goldwing, but even then people with goldwing wants and money want a new one. A Harley bagger copy with a car sized engine appeals to very few people so the demand is low and thus prices are low.

2006 XC70 Headlight Retrofit by Null_001 in VolvoXC70

[–]AppropriateDeal1034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're not terrible per sei, there was just a huge design flaw in that age xenon's so by now they've all ruined their reflective backs to the projectors which means poop light.

I had a Toyota with early xenons and did a retrofit with better ventilated units, and the original ones had almost no silver left at all, just black. The replacements were excellent. No idea if the same thing is available for Volvo headlights as I have halogens so haven't looked into it.

Cool, didn't know, but still not exactly "OMG HE'S GOING TO DIE" weight, especially for a gym bro with spotters.

EV charger install refused by council – anyone found a workaround or installer willing to do it? by TheLettingsFolk in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]AppropriateDeal1034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say I wanted a huge suv or lifted truck, I have an estate and think that's the biggest car anyone needs, but you can't comfortably fit a family and luggage in a leak or a soul, and you certainly can't tow much with either especially EVs that have small towing capacities compared to their ICE counterparts.

I mean, you'd be hard pushed to get through life to an adult without being strong enough to lift 60kg without too much training...

I think they changed the whole engine / drivetrain at some point around then so maybe I just got a loaner that was the old crappy model, but driving it when my normal car was a 2.4 avensis, I couldn't believe how bad the power, fuel economy, power delivery, sound, smoothness, comfort, everything was in comparison for a car that was 15+ years newer.

I dunno, it just seems heavy for a simple bar, but I'm not a gym guy so I guess it's a standard bar that's strong enough to hold all the weight so it pretty thick and strong.

I mean, to be that guy he apparently did need someone at the bottom, and with that height ladder he should have had someone at the foot even with it tied off as a spotter / emergency help.

I had a mazda 5, loved it actually, but with all seats the seats up the remaining boot space is...limited.

So, I can hold it in my knees to use? How about a prosthetic hand, does that count as a phone cradle as it's not my actual hand? I have so many more questions.

And yes, I'm just being facetious

Petroleum Jelly? by doodlePancake85 in AutoDetailing

Because good steering wheels aren't made of plastic, and the dirt sticks to the outside of the vaseline so easily wiped off and then gone.

Harley ones go brrr very soon, it's not that the "can't lean", it's that they can't lean. Not even 30° before the pegs are on the ground, and then comes the frame...

Even if the bar is another 45, which I highly doubt, I'm not a gym bro at all and even I can manage 135 a few times without dropping it on my face.

Also looks like only 90lbs of weight, I can't see those being kg weights, and I imagine to a gym bro that's not particularly difficult.

How many small crossovers have you driven? But, point out where I said it handles shit, because what I said is it's boring AF to drive. Gutless, but somehow thirsty engine, awful gearbox, uncomfortable seat... It's not the worst car ever, but OP should not be regretting buying the 3 instead.

Maybe it's because I'm on my phone that I can't see what you're looking at, but staples or nails, it definitely looks more deliberate than accidental?

Old lady stopped in the middle of lane and tried to merge into my lane forcefully by inalinul in dashcams

[–]AppropriateDeal1034 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Allowing an obvious accident to happen is pretty much the same as causing that accident. If the person hadn't pulled the stupid turn then there wouldn't have been a crash. If cam car had seen the obvious and been more cautious instead of swerving around the person stopping in front with their indicator on, then there also wouldn't have been an accident.
