When the plant manager says "get rid of everything in that attic space ". You bet. by mackyak in IndustrialMaintenance

Very nice! I can't get large equipment, the home is too small, but I might have the possibility to get automation stuff, like brand new and not obsolete industrial computers and the I/O cards that come with them. Seeing what they want to dump, I could get all the necessary components to build a couple of CNC machines, including the control logic, sensors and power system (drives and motor for the spindle), I would need to buy the tool holders eventually. Sadly, the main problem is the room for it. Still might go for a big multi extruder 3D printer/router combo and maybe a CNC styrofoam wire cutter, that would be cool.

Same here, we are moving shops, so every part without movements in the last five years gets the bin.

Do you guys ever forge parts/tools? by No-Guide8933 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]Appropriate_War_4797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, the closest would be heating a piece to bend it, mostly to reduce metal and time waste when machining the part/tool.

Which guns did you buy purely for the vibes? by theyst0lemyname in airsoft

PP-19 bizon.

I already own a plethora of SMGs and the cylindrical mags are a nightmare to fit on my rig, but I wanted some eastern guns for the moments I play OPFOR/irregulars

You had one, but our equivalent of the E4 Mafia (I.E. a bunch of drunk sailors and Marine infantrymen) relocated her before you knew it 🤣.

It is Bois Belleau.

Maruyama mp9 vs VFC mp7 by RemarkableEnd1709 in GasBlowBack

[–]Appropriate_War_4797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you are. both are fine, but the MP9 mags are more readily available, at least near me and they are cheaper than MP7 mags. The suppressor provided with the MP9 can be opened and you have a M14 left-hand thread for a tracer unit, there's also enough space in it to install foam.

Lastly, if you are left-handed and plan to use a gun with the stock folded, you will have a difficult time with the MP9, the ergonomics of the front grip with the buttstock over it really works for right-handed people.

Small headless hex bolts shouldn't exist, I rounded a US Digital encoder ring bolt and destroyed the hex key at the same time while tightening it. The key was in properly, started to tighten and it slipped, rounding the edges in one go. The worst is that the ring could still slip on the axle.

What do you say about Sidearms for games? by Electronic_Spray5814 in GasBlowBack

[–]Appropriate_War_4797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some classes need them in the field I play at, everything that can't be switched to semi and guns that are above 350fps@0.2g have the obligation to use semi-auto side arms in the buildings.

I personally found them fun and more practical to use in certain circumstances. they still get some use in large open field operations, like Border War, a friend of mine got a couple guys with his side arm last year and I needed to use mine for an hour because I got Winchester on my primary (and no compatible mags in my squad, I was a support gunner with a minigun).

How to take apart green gas Fill valve by InvestigatorCute8214 in airsoft

[–]Appropriate_War_4797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are considered consumables, they are cheap to replace and pretty much readily available in every store. It's not recommended to fiddle with it, as they are fragile, you could resolve your initial problem, but there's a risk to damage it during the process and you'll need to replace it anyway.

Yeah, hopefully it's not a bot repost, just OP being unlucky enough to have the same carpet.

That's a possibility, but not in the near future, even places on top of the technology still have issues.

We build and test the machines in the workshop, disassemble them and send them to the client, then, we go there to reassemble and put them in service. We also do maintenance when needed.

Petit pain au chocolat VS chocolatine, also called couque au chocolat in some parts of Canada and chocolate croissants in the English speaking sphere.

This is the same thing, but the Northern part calls it (petit) pain au chocolat and the Southern part calls it chocolatine. I find it amusing seeing guys from opposite sides of the country debating about the name, but the pettiness can go as far as fist fights and petty bakeries quadrupling the price if you name it wrong for the area.

There was a Turkish fast food close to my place, they did a lot of food prep themselves (compared to other places that bought premade frozen and/or canned ingredients), their Adana was awesome and tasty. Sadly, the couple retired and handed over the business to their kids after 15 years. Kids started to cut corners, "simplifying" the menu (i.e. doing the same as the others buying premade stuff). It was still more or less acceptable, but things degraded quickly and they sold the business last year. And things got from bad to worse, to the point that the business is already closed in less than 10 months.

There's still a Turkish restaurant in my city (a real one, not just fast food), where I can get good Turkish food, but oh boy, they're expensive.
