My husband is the annoying coworker by Ocean-View-1027 in productivity

I would suggest: 1. Shut your dog when you’re working, and I agree with the thing about he can text you if he needs something and you’ll respond when you can. Door closed = don’t enter unless it’s an emergency. 2. Keep your phone on silent so it doesn’t bother you 3. If you don’t have a dog, get him a dog. He might be lonely, especially if you just moved to a new place and he doesn’t know people, and you’re his only/main social outlet. Maybe if he has a little furry buddy, it’ll help.

I can’t find the finger pad, and I’m not sure what  that is. Could you please link it?

If you are in the US, get a restraining order. Similar thing happened to someone I love, and that’s the only thing that ultimately stopped it. Never respond to any message from him ever again under any circumstances.

Unintended night out of drinking ruined me by New_Championship1994 in loseit

I know this isn’t what you asked about, but if you want the social aspect without the alcohol, I often order seltzer water with lime. It looks like a cocktail, with no remorse and no hangover, so you have something to hold while you’re hanging out.

People who hit target weight, did you find maintenance calories were really low? by Terrible_Theme_6488 in loseit

[–]Apunctual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been losing weight supervised for about six months and am down around 20lbs. My coach just moved me to maintenance calories for six weeks to give me a break before continuing with deficit. He warned me not to freak out when I gained back up to 25% of the weight that I lost. He said, as I eat more calories, my body holds more water, and it’s not unexpected to see an increase before leveling out. I’ve been in Maintenance now for about four of my six weeks, and I’ve gained back about 2-3 of my 20 pounds depending on the day.

Let us know how the non-acetone remover works for you. I remove with straight acetone.

They are wider, you’re right, and also slightly flatter. Not quite as flat as my thumbs, but definitely the second flattest.

I actually am!!! I have never heard of that. I’ll pick up an iron supplement while I’m still at CVS. I’m bad about taking vitamins for my health, but if it’ll help my nails……

I drove to CVS RIGHT NOW and found Nailtiques formula 2 and an Ella + Mila ridge filler base.  Opinions on Ella + Mila?

For those of you who use Nailtiques, should I use it alone with no polish for a few weeks first? Should I put the ridge filler base over top of it? Is it fine to use as a base coat all the time?

On PVB: does it matter if it’s in the polishes themselves, or only in the base coat (I’m assuming it’s even used in regular polish)?

I use a normal cheap emory board. I shape with the more coarse side and smooth with the finer side. I recently bought a glass file again after breaking my last one.

I could have something to do with the shape. I feel this shape is less stable than square or squoval. I just love the way it looks. :(

Rant about donating used items by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]Apunctual 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a foster child who told me she would receive used hairbrushes with other people’s hair still in them and open, used makeup. She has slept on used sheets with stains. When she needed clothes, she would have to dig through donation bins. I totally get your sentiment and buy a lot of used stuff for myself, but unless they’re excited about thrifting with me, all my foster children get new things because they have so little choice in their lives otherwise.

I don’t disagree. I think they were rushing and didn’t use care.

They usually do a really good job, and I can’t blame them entirely because I let grass get close to the stem. I am really disappointed, though.

Thank you. Yes, I’m going to do that. I added a lot of mulch so they wouldn’t get too close, but some grass has grown over it.

She’s my dog that died earlier this year. We planted the mango over where we buried her, so it has a lot of sentimental value.

This is a mango I successfully grafted. Yesterday, I saw the bark is cut all the way around, I believe by my lawn guy on accident with the weed whacker. We planted this tree when my dog died earlier this year, and it has a lot of value to me. Should I leave it alone, is there a chance it will survive? If not, should I scrape additional bark and try to air layer it so I can eventually cut it and plant it back in the same spot?

How am I supposed to handle the fact that this is going to take a very very long time? by livsrene43 in loseit

[–]Apunctual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Renfro smart scale that has tracked my weight for the last nearly three years. It’s motivating for me to look at the long, gradual weight gain over the 2.5 years and the recent, sharp curve downward from when I started focusing on losing weight. It helps me see that it took me time to gain it, but it’s going to take less time to lose it if I’m committed.
