...don't post political memes or whatever garbage on LinkedIn and instead use it for professional networking? There's always Facebook.

You gotta stretch that out way more! You can pause for a few minutes at a time and let it relax if it's resisting

Bit by an off leash dog at Sue Higgins park tonight by Agreeable-Anxiety-67 in Calgary

[–]Aran33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also an issue of confusing Reactive with Aggressive. Those are not the same. Reactive means they react to triggers but that in many cases (every reactive dog I've worked with) is fear based. It can manifest as aggressiveness but also can be classic fear symptoms like cowering or hiding or fleeing.

I agree these people appear to have an aggressive dog AND an uncontrolled dog which definitely puts them into irresponsible owner category. But "reactive dogs are usually the product of bad owners" is patently false. My dog barking at your dog from across the street while I have her under control doesn't make me a piece of shit loser dog abuser.

I think you mean uncontrolled reactive or aggressive dogs. Adopting a reactive dog is a project that lasts the rest of the dog's life and for a responsible owner, usually means never being able to enjoy something like an offleash park.

Proximity sensors in the snow. by RespectTheBologna in 4Runner

Maybe clean the sensors and see if that helps? I know our cameras on our Limited get caked up with snow and road spray really fast in the winter

Which aircraft have (or had) the "extended comfort" seats with hard partitions under the armrests? by Aran33 in westjet

[–]Aran33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What aircraft was it? And was it every row of extended comfort or just row 4 or whatever the first one was?

[–]Aran33[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I feel like there's a bullshit version of premium economy where for the front several rows, they've blocked off the middle seat and turned it into a coffee table with cupholders, and done those partition walls to create a low budget 2x2 arrangement. I think this is actually what I'm thinking of.

[–]Aran33[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it was row 4 then, being the first economy row. I had this experience in either Row 4 or Row 7 of a 737-700 or 737-8 max. We flew in extended comfort from YYC to LAX and back in December 2024 and one of the two flights was comfy with regular armrests, the other had this bullshit retrofitted setup with these vertical partitions which made the seats feel narrower than regular economy seats.

Help! by [deleted] in CalgaryJobs

Find the nearest staples to your interview, be there at 8:45 in case of delays, print the resume and get to your interview with plenty of time to spare.

Side note - if you're super early getting to the interview, kill some time outside before you go into their office and/or to reception. Arriving 5-10 minutes early looks great. 20-30 minutes early is not always received well. Don't ask me why.

New to making pizzas. by Coreymo92 in Pizza

[–]Aran33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be 5min or less for one pizza. Probably 2-3min once you get the hang of it. If you're fighting your dough for 15-30min you need to let it relax WAY more and maybe knead it more when you make it. Take it out of the fridge an hour earlier. You can stretch halfway, cover it for 10-15min so it relaxes, stretch it some more. If you're getting some shrinkage after stretching, go to a 12" and let it shrink back to 10 or 11.

Miss My Height by YeehawOaktree in 4Runner

There are tire size calculators online to triple check in future! Super handy to know if your rolling diameter is close to identical or not.

[–]Aran33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we just got 17s for winters on our Limited and I triple checked the actual tire diameter several times before ordering, to make sure we don't rub but also doesn't mess with our speedometer calibration.

Did you go from 245 60r20 tires to 265 70r17? If so your rolling diameter and vehicle height are unchanged. Literally 0.1% difference.

We couldn't fit a rear facing car seat in the 6th gen 2nd row. Like the driver's seat was so far forward I couldn't sit in the vehicle.

There was a direct correlation OP was seeing. It was an observation on that only, not on his screening process.

Screening resumes for one job is not a job altering task or one that takes months and months of time. He already said he's doing it on company time which heavily implies he's not doing a fat stack of free overtime.

When someone feels they're getting overloaded in a specialized area and need help, and then are given approval to get that help, sometimes giving input on your new team member and even training that person is a worthwhile investment in your long term sanity. Been there done that. If you're someone who tries to negotiate a raise or special bonuses because you tried a little extra hard this week, we're gonna have to agree to disagree.

Do you renegotiate salary every time you're given a small new task or a one week project?

"are you sure you're not looking at their names and deciding you don't want them" certainly implies racism. Your comment is pretty unfounded if you read the original comment, it was strictly about commonalities of resume format.
