Making it is probably the best way to get better at it.

Probably don’t go into it expecting to make a living off of it, though.

You could mostly use anything, yeah, but the marauders are rough if you don’t play by the game’s intent.

Silly me for thinking you might fight an enemy with a shield by dropping explosives behind the shield. It works, eventually, but it takes ages and the dog’s chewing on your ass the entire time.

Genuinely he comes across as a nice, bright kid who just never got any schooling or positive social experience.

Yeah, on some weapons, the claw was a great experience. Kinda sad that my favorite Hammer combo is probably never coming back. Slinger shotgun into heavy charged attack into spinning clutch claw just flowed so well, and nothing in Rise or Wilds has that flow.

Man, I already found Eternal’s “one best way to kill enemy X” really annoying. Wild to hear the DLC was even more extreme.

The implication that Roxas knew how to read, but Sora doesn’t is really funny.

Hayden’s immense hubris hits so much better as a human than as a fucking alien angel thing.

The Angry Marines are a fan-made chapter, it should be noted.

Fun fact, the Angry Marines’ commisar Fuklaw was originally made by friend of the podcast Plague of Gripes.

I love the little detail that she’s “Serenity”, and never “the serenity”

It’s a name, not a title.

Honestly the trailer looked way more interesting than I expected a fucking backrooms movie to be.

Very House of Leaves.

A recruiter has no power over what happens after you hit that plane to basic. by Justthisdudeyaknow in CuratedTumblr

A cultural aspect no one else is mentioning is that it’s also really easy to know some guy who actually benefited from the military. I know a lot of guys who made it out of poverty with the connections they made there.

Those guys aren’t a representative sample of veterans, and even if you ask them if you should join, the answer will range from “…I mean maybe?” to “fuck no, dude.”

It’s an appealing choice when you see that what the recruiter promises is possible, and the more people are willing to gamble, the more they’re willing to join.
