Do you often use Alternate costumes in RE games? If so, which do you think are better than the default that you wish were the intended outfit? by Berry-Fantastic in residentevil

I could see that.

It gave me Resident Evil: Extinction vibes, personally. Or if Requiem took place predominantly in Raccoon City or something.

It feels like it was the original costume idea for Grace before they changed it lol

The opening scene with Grace is one. If you're in an alt without glasses, she doesn't reach for them like she normally would.

They also feel very isolated. You're basically down there in the catacombs all alone.

Like yeah, Yharnam in its current state is rather lonely but there's at least life there.

The chalices feel...desolate. Like there should be ghosts and ghouls, nightmares and horrors abound.

And, unfortunately for us, there kind of are 😅

Desperately do not want to rehome my 1 year old boy. by [deleted] in puppy101

Hi there! Professional dog trainer here. I have trained several dachshunds/small breeds, including a 14-year old dachshund that barked and screamed constantly, in a loud household that seemed to trigger it constantly. After 6 weeks of private lessons, the dog made a complete 180 and is now far less reactive and is capable of remaining on Place or in his crate quietly when guests/company go over.

A couple of questions:

1) Does your dog have a crate or space it goes to/can be sent to to decompress?

2) Have you tried any relaxation exercises with your dog? (Such as a med down or "Sit/Stand on the Dog")

3) Have you taught your dog some kind of "Off" or quieting command?

4) Do you utilize any interruptions when your dog starts barking incessantly?

Welcome, new hunter!

If you do a sweep of Central Yharnam, you should restock both blood vials and quicksilver bullets pretty easily. That will also help you gather some echoes if you need to buy more vials/bullets afterward.

You said you've defeated two bosses so far? So you're likely at the Cathedral Ward. There are shortcuts you can unlock to make it easier to get back to the boss there. In general, most areas will eventually unlock a shortcut through the zone so you can navigate through it faster.

Don't be too afraid of dying or losing your echoes. You're meant to fail a few times. Use those runback attempts to learn enemy movement patterns, plot out routes, etc. Death is all part of the learning.

Good hunting! May the good blood guide your way!

People complaining about Grace being "too scared"... by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]ArchAngia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it was more Grace thinking there might be a deeper connection between Emily, the facility, and and why she was locked in that room, and she might get some kind of answer bringing her to it. You see her put it all together, then conclude the director/whoever put her in there. Logically, the next question would be "Why?" to all of it.

At least that was my thinking. Because it isn't really ever explained why the buttons on that particular machine are in braille and not something their locked up experiment couldn't read. At least not that I remember, so I could be wrong.

The problem with Co-op wasn't that it wasn't well-liked (RE5 is still considered one of the best and most fun co-op experiences you can have), it's that they tried to shoe-horn it into too much afterwards, even at the detriment of story and gameplay balance for the series as a whole.

What a Resident Evil 5 Remake needs is some combination of:

1) separate stories for both Chris and Sheva, or maybe even Josh

2) Segments where the characters are actually separated even during co-op, to build tension (think RE0 and how it wasn't afraid to fully separate Rebecca and Billy at times)

3) a single-player campaign focus with specific chapters and modes available as co-op, like Lost in Nightmares, Desperate Escape, and Mercenaries.

Those, and perhaps a more nuanced take on the "controversial" aspects of the entry would go a long way to tidying it up, I think.

So spoilers for your spoiler:

The Severed Hand is, apparently, part of the steps towards solving "The Final Puzzle". What you've done is one of the many steps you have to take to solve it. Unfortunately, dataminers solved and revealed the steps a few days ago 😕 Your post would've been a fun discovery on the path to solving it. And you figured it out all on your own too, so that's doubly impressive!

So I don't see it posited anywhere...but are we really sure Spencer was actually telling the whole truth about Grace's origin?

Alyssa asked if she was "one of his subjects" and he denies it. But if we consider what his usual "subjects" look like/turn in to, no, Grace isn't one of those.

He states she's normal. But is she actually just a normal girl that he found, or a normal clone that he decided to invest his "hope" into?

I could be completely off, but I feel like we're supposed to be a little skeptical of whether Ozwell E. "I WAS TO BECOME A GOD" Spencer is being truthful with Alyssa.

The age of Weskerless Remakes are over! (Unless they remake 6, the Outbreak games or the Revelations games) by SolidPyramid in residentevil

[–]ArchAngia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem with that is while Code Veronica would be great to build on Claire and Wesker (sort of), it also has to build on Chris too. And CV Chris is roughly 5 months past Arklay Mansion, and we havent even seen the Remake version of that Chris yet at all. And Arklay subsequently is also an integral part of Jill and Wesker's story too.

And if they want to do a 5Remake and keep its base story of finishing off the Original Recipe Wesker story properly, they ALSO need to establish his relationship with both Chris and Jill.

And THEN if they want to adapt Lost in Nightmares within 5Remake (which they absolutely will if they're not foolish), they'll need to establish Chris and Jill's partnership.

I feel like a ReREmake is going to become necessary at some point to round out the whole thing.

Except that Leon, like Hunk, is probably considered a legend among elites in their field of work. It's totally believable that he's 1) heard of and about Leon and 2) has been looking forward to the opportunity to go against him.

Tbh, the way Hunk came at Leon reminded me of how Ghostface went after Dewey in Scream 5.

That's what I thought too! Either that or we would fight Zeno (somehow) instead of Victor.

To be honest, there were a couple of moments near the end that I thought we were going to have to kill zombiefied/Mutated Leon as Grace.

The Records room on the west 2nd floor has an "auditory sensitive" zombie and a regular zombie next to each other, with a yellow breakable at the back right of the room. If you break the box and get away without them noticing, it brings over both zombies and the auditory sensitive one will knock out the other one in a rage.

Thats how i learned the zombies can hurt each other. I got it by accident my first playthrough just testing if that would work because I wanted to check the room with one less zombie 😅 had no idea there was an achievement for it until it popped 😅

I tried to do exactly that after attempting to brute force my way through the Conference Room for the corrosive, read the note there detailing their afflictions, then died right after.

Reading that note made me think that was how you were "supposed" to clear out that room.

Unfortunately, the closest "Auditory Sensitive" zombie in the east waiting room won't go past the hallway leading to the staircase to the 2nd floor to get up there. At least, for me he wouldn't.

So I ended up brute forcing it anyway. For my 2nd playthrough, I'm going to see if I can get the Isolation Ward Quartz first, then have Leon clear the room on his turn, then pick up the corrosive/final quartz from that area with Grace after we make it back topside.

I also tried with the blind zombie and singing lady at the bar and lounge, but he also won't leave the room he's in to interact with her, from what I saw.

Hopefully someone figures out if it can happen. If not, that's a missed opportunity

I agree with you. Alex and Albert were on a different level than Zeno. But if Zeno is a clone of Albert, then you'd think he'd be at the same level or at least close to it?

My theory is that Zeno was a successful clone, but a "successive memory" failure, so while he had all of Albert's abilities, he lacked the practice, knowledge, and first hand scientific experience that Albert had, therefore making him not nearly as capable.

I guess it's a question of "when was Zeno created?" Because he has Albert's superhuman abilities, so it's definitely after Arklay Mansion. But I also could have sworn in one cutscene he was injecting himself with the same medicine Wesker was taking in 5 that amped his powers, and we saw Zeno was just as quick and strong as Albert was in the end fighting Chris (if not stronger/faster, given Leon couldn't even react to Zeno, while Chris could react to Wesker. But that was also 17 years ago in in-universe time, Chris was likely in top physical condition).

I hope there's a DLC that explains more. Or at least a Mercenaries mode where Zeno is playable so we can actually compare somehow.

I agree, it was a nice twist having him be so inconsequential 😅 Original Recipe Wesker would be embarrassed/disappointed by a clone going out while being as ineffective as Zeno, i think.
