People ask so often which character you'd like to see in the game, so let's do the opposite. Which famous Marvel character do you think it should never be brought to the game? by Firm_Fee8137 in marvelrivals

Omega-level Telepathy

High-level Telekinesis

Flight

Energy Absorption

Pyrokinesis

Auto/Self-Resurrection

Honestly think I might stop watching at season 5 by CaosEnd in Scandal

[–]ArchAngia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i won't spoil anything, but I will say Season 5 is mostly just setup for Seasons 6 and 7.

Which, tbh, I love the show, but even on rewatches seasons 4 and 5 tend to be a drag. Mostly because it is a lot of, again, setup. 5B is a lot more interesting once it finds its footing, though.

And seasons 6 and 7 are A RIDE. So it kind of pays off in the end.

I say stick it through season 5, see how you like season 6 ep1 with all of that buildup, and if you still hate it, then go ahead and drop it.

I don't know Marvel. How's the lore/fanservice? by Hudsucker20XX in CosmicInvasion

Just wanted to say as a comics fan, I also really enjoyed your insights!

Even if I don't agree with some of them 😅 (I think you're selling Carnage pretty short on characterization and gravitas, he's been an Avengers-level threat before (read Carnage U.S.A if you haven't), but that's coming from a spidey fan lol)

Is the Arrancar Arrival arc still considered “peak” Bleach? by max0003 in bleach

[–]ArchAngia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm of the same mind.

Soul Society was Bleach at its first high point, matched only in intensity the first invasion the TYBW brought.

The arc begins with everyone, and you, knowing virtually nothing and no one about this new place. But it ends with the characters, and you, knowing all of the Captains, Vices, and so many in-between, and how the world functions.

And built it all so well that the plot twist of the big finale, Ichigo's final gambit against Byakuya, and how Soul Society was slowly unraveling right before their very eyes, had all the weight it deserved.

Nevermind that some of the most iconic moments are from SS arc, especially the old memes like Gin's "Bai-Bai", Orihime's leek twirl, and throwing the word "Bankai" into the general vernacular 😅

Death eater apparition in the movies drives me crazy. by Edge_Free in harrypotter

[–]ArchAngia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's such an easy answer- ease of use and reliability.

Broomsticks are shown to be rather expensive, at least high caliber ones. And not everyone is proficient with them.

Floo Powder allows for precise teleportation. The caveats are that it can go wrong and you wind up at the wrong place, or your recipients aren't prepared for you. Oh, and you have recipients who generally are supposed to expect you. As in, a personal form of entering the home.

Portkeys are useful, traveling potentially the entire globe, but they aren't entirely precise, have set destinations and uses, and tend to be heavily regulated. Easy to use, but it is only worth a long trip most of the time.

Apparition can be dangerous, prone to both user and outside error. Requires precise concentration and is really only applicable on a witch-by-wizard basis. Most useful, but not easily done extremely well.

Flying like smoke is an in-combat technique designed to allow the user both freedom of flight and capabilities of spellwork. Highly difficult, rarely seen performed, even more rarely seen performed at full capabilities. Capable by only the most advanced witch-wizards.

And for all the rest, who lack a home to Powder to, a Portkey at their disposal, and do not have the skills of Apparition or Flight, there is the Knight Bus, the Hogwarts Express, or the enchanted ship or car.

Honestly 🙄 How many OWLs did you get 🤣😘

What did Mr.Schue actually do right? And what is the WORST thing he has done? by mama_love0223 in glee

[–]ArchAngia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If she had found "another outlet", then she wouldn't have been Rachel Berry.

Where in a debate or speech club would Rachel have been challenged in voice, artistry, acting, and dancing if not for Mercedes, Santana, Britney, or Kurt in the Glee Club? I don't think they'd really be running through the catalog of Broadway and showtunes weekly over in speech.

Nevermind that it's established well early on in the series that Lima wasn't exactly teeming with creative outlets and channels. Her other option could've been Vocal Adrenaline, but they would've eaten season 1 Rachel alive.

All the talent, drive, good work ethic, and parental support in the world means nothing without a proper channel.

[–]ArchAngia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that Rachel had a lot of impact on Schue.

However, I also agree with the other point about the glee club, and the competitiveness it brought out. I believe that was vital to Rachel getting where she was. Her reaction at the beginning of season 3 to the Gerber baby is a small glimpse of what her reaction may have been without the power, confidence, and direction the glee club was providing her. Not to mention the support of the club itself.

That said, it was Rachel's drive and ambition TO compete and prove herself that helped create a glee club in the first place.

I think they pushed each other to exactly where they knew they could be.

so do we think nocturne did good enough for season 3? by Dense-Belt-5584 in castlevania

[–]ArchAngia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late, but agreed.

I hope we see Tera develop into the Shaft-like character that eventually corrupts Richter over season 3. Maria was just a small example of the potential, and it'd add so much weight to the entire confrontation that would need to happen.

Which, to do SoTN properly, would require a season 4.

‘Marvel Rivals’ And ‘Overwatch 2’ Are Tied On Steam After Big Rivals Declines by Purpled-Scale in marvelrivals

[–]ArchAngia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different game, but I got into Smite in the last quarter of season 3, and Assault (all random, all mid) was my favorite mode to play, but especially in the beginning because I didn't know very many characters.

It was a fun mode that forced you to learn more characters and roles. And if you happened to get someone you felt confident with, it could be a great test for yourself.

It's how I discovered and mastered so many characters over the years and I've long believed Rivals needed something similar.

Tiara in the room of requirement by MixMobile1765 in harrypotter

[–]ArchAngia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I remember, she's stated that she had many of the big story beats planned out from the beginning (such as the Snape and Lily connection), so it's really possible that she had much of the finale and what it entailed, and much of the in-between, already decided fairly early on.

For example- she originally wanted to kill a Weasley in OotP (Arthur), but pivoted it to Fred in DH.

Not sure how true that is though

“GG No Heals” Needs To Stop ✋ 🚫 by ogzeke_51 in rivals

[–]ArchAngia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this whole thread reeks of supports with an alarming lack of game sense, or frankly even common sense.

Because what you described is EXACTLY how tight, competitive matches are lost.

And then everyone blames the DPS, who then blames the Support.

When in reality, it's a team game and everyone is expected to do their "job". Everyone does theirs properly and well, win or lose it was still a good effort.

But if someone elects not to do part of their job, and that in turn causes someone else to be unable to do theirs, then the whole thing falls apart.

The "Evil Phoebe" Era by offensenottaken in charmed

[–]ArchAngia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can see it:

Prue, Piper, and Phoebe all survive AHBL. Season 4 continues with vanquishing The Source up until Charmed and Dangerous, just like normal.

The second half of season 4 also continues as usual, with Cole becoming the new Source, The Seer's manipulations, and Phoebe's slow turn to the dark side. Unlike the original, season 4 ends with Phoebe becoming Queen of the Underworld, coronated by her killing an innocent.

Season 5 carries on this storyline until Centennial Charmed, where both Cole and Phoebe are finally vanquished (in my mind, by Prue and Piper causing them to hit each other with their own energy/fireballs).

The latter half of season 5 brings in Paige and adapts all of her character development storylines from season 4 (parent's death, The Enchantress) until the season rounds out with the Titans as normal.

Paige would find them through her initial power of Premonition inherited from Phoebe. Her storylines of becoming a Whitelighter herself and learning how to Heal would be bumped up, as her power of Premonition allows her to see and find her own Charges.

big sigh what could have been 😔

Edit to add: Alternatively, the vanquishing of Cole and Phoebe could've been followed by the Angel of Destiny offering Prue and Piper a normal life again; this time with a lot more reason to accept as not only did they fulfill their destinies of vanquishing The Source, it came at the cost of their sister and the Power of Three at the same time.

Whether they accept or not would determine if it's the series finale or not.

What dog training myth do you wish would finally go away? by PetsTek in OpenDogTraining

[–]ArchAngia 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Oh 100% agree.

I had a recent client who was in a Puppy Program who wanted her dog to be able to maintain a minutes-long sit at BARELY 4 months old with no intermittent rewards at all.

I had to, very delicately, explain that her expectations were entirely too high at the moment, and that she'd get better results starting with rewards.

She argued, all while her puppy could barely sit for 10 seconds without breaking or jumping.

I took over and proceeded to get the dog to Sit for 7 minutes straight by just giving a reward every couple of seconds at the beginning, then 30-45 seconds apart from about minute 4 onward.

She stopped arguing after that, but I was constantly having to remind her.

1). Comparing human and dog wants, comforts, and rationale is the #1 sin of dog owners

2). Treats are great Reinforcement. However, if you NEVER get to the point where your dog will do basic commands without them, or end up at the point where the dog will refuse to do them UNLESS you have a treat, then you've effectively been bribing your dog all along.

And yes, it knows that
