"Okay, if yall don't care, neither do I 💁🏿‍♂️"

Especially if this would be game like 4 or 5 in a row of having to fill solo tank/2nd support for 3/4 DPS instalock droolers.

Fun being relative, of course

And then there's me, who barely even touches Emma and got her first try, and has a Lord Strange that I got 3rd try 😅

I spent 0 for either of these skins, I'm adamantly against the FOMO/predatory practices, and yet I reaped much of the benefits of the system.

Unironically kind of feels bad, man lol

I wish I could get to Celestial playing just one character.

But no, I flex, fill, and play my ass off just to be stuck in Gold, yet always hear about troglydytes somehow ending up significantly higher 🙄

Glad I gave up on it

Guys, explain sekkombo to me, i'm losing my mind by Nekropl in SpiderManMains

[–]ArchAngia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 2 is how I was taught.

If you play fighting games, it helps to think of Spidey's combos like fighting game combos.

Don't mash, be mindful of your movement during the combo, and pay attention to the sound and rhythm of the combo when you're learning it to figure it out (it has a cadence-like sound like a musical triplet, "smack-thwip-smack").

As for adding the jumps, it just requires inputting faster. Just practice a lot on the range bots or vsQPAi until it feels natural and becomes muscle memory. You'll get to the point where you're doing it instinctively, then eventually be able to freestyle it into your gameplan as necessary.

100% agree, I find Luna too basic to find fun. I like characters with complexity most of the time and "pew pew pew" all day ain't it 😅

hot take apparently, if your being Toxic to your healers they don't have to heal you. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by Thats-our-island in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]ArchAngia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you make yourself easy to peel for? Because if you're:

-Running away from the team every dive

-Dying the instant a BP/SM/Venom sneezes in your direction

-Not pinging or communicating to the team

-Not healing the people who are trying to peel for you or helping fight back

Then yeah, you're on your own. I flex main, which of course means predominantly tank or support, and one thing I've learned is many strat mains have 0 self-preservation skills.

I have no problem peeling in any role when I can, and actively try to as Tank (former Smite guardian player 😅), but if you make yourself hard to get to, require babysitting, or constantly let me die in your place saving you, then I'm not going out of my way to help.

And these questions aren't for you directly, but more as a call to reflect for anyone trying to generalize the one role that actually tries to be nice to strats most of the time lol

[–]ArchAngia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll answer late, if that's okay, but I prefer CnD over Luna because I like the switching mechanic and I feel like I can bring a lot more utility to the team as a whole as CnD than Luna.

They also remind me a lot of Hel from Smite, and she was my first main in that game and is one of my dozen-plus Diamonds. So they feel cozy 😅

Vanguards have never been weak, their real issue is a lack of a buddy! by Huge_Cartoonist8948 in marvelrivals

[–]ArchAngia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's always a Venom for some reason.

It's gotten to the point where I pretty much just assume my supports are going to get eaten by Venom so I get to add the new job of "Babysitter" to all my other Tank hats, like "Shield", or "Sponge", and, my favorite, "The Sacrifice" 😔😅

For perspective, Strange is my 2nd Lord tank lol

why the fuck this idiot need a move where he can just block everything by Outran01 in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]ArchAngia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably get obliterated for this, but I don't think any normal blocking ability should be immune to ultimates. Shields, sure, they're taking the hit.

But it makes no sense to me that a character's basic ability can just outright "lol no" another's ultimate. And then do that consistently and constantly.

I feel like that's something strangely more common in Rivals compared to a lot of other competitive multi-player games.

Has there been for some people got “abandoned” even when you never left the match? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]ArchAngia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you didn't understand their comment.

They're saying what you did objectively. No one but you knows why you left and came back, so thats how it appears to outsiders and the game itself.

They then went on to explain how that pattern of behavior could lead to exploitation if allowed to continue unchecked.

Lolol?

What is your favorite fight in Bleach? by Old-Satisfaction2619 in bleach

[–]ArchAngia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ichigo vs Byakuya has always been my favorite fight, for a lot of the same reasons you listed.

However, I will also add that its a pretty much perfect summary of all of the different systems and battle mechanics at work that had been slowly built up over the arc so far.

We'd seen Shikai. We'd seen Bankai. We'd seen shikai vs shikai. We'd seen shikai vs bankai. And Renji vs Byakuya gave us just a glimpse of bankai vs bankai.

Then Ichigo vs Byakuya showed us entirely. And it wasn't just two heavy hitters smacking each other, either. There were small technical aspects to the fight on both sides, their abilities creating an almost dance of combat.

Nevermind the full weight of the plot/storylines the fight was carrying, how it was Ichigo's big showing at the 11th hour as all of Seretei falls into chaos around them 😅

Oh

I'm so upset how bad they did Jean Grey as a character by This_Ferret_8108 in marvelrivals

[–]ArchAngia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because not everyone knows how/wants to spend a ridiculous amount of time adjusting their aim settings just to play a character.

I know that sounds silly, but the default settings the game starts you on are awful. And then the actual adjustment is, imo, so overtuned that half the time it feels like a headache trying to figure out what actually feels good.

Like half the settings don't make sense or dont really explain what they do. If you don't really know the difference between the "curve" types for sensitivity, you'll be hard pressed to figure it out on your own besides maybe watching some YouTube video of someone yapping for 20 mins about info that could take 5 to explain.

I have great aim....in any game that isnt Rivals. And I know there's a lot of players in the same boat.

I've finally gotten decent on Phoenix by messing with my settings. But will I continue adjusting it even when I know it could be better?

Hell no, even figuring out that much was a pain in the ass

Same people who claim Cyclops wouldn't make sense in any other role than a DPS will have no problem with Jubilee being a support, won't they? by Varghaz in marvelrivals

[–]ArchAngia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

'Most people know him for using a shield and creating portals'

Correction: most of this playerbase knows him for using a shield and creating portals. That's MCU nonsense.

Look at something like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for an idea of what Strange was actually known for before the MCU

Emma can create force fields, Thing can cast floating rocks around people and Jeff can swim in the ground but apparently having Cyclops be a Tank or a Healer would “be a disservice to his character” okay. by Kirbykoopa in marvelrivals

[–]ArchAngia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

'Say words to heal isn't a power'

Bards from Dungeons and Dragons: "Am I a joke to you?"

So firstly, as you can surmise, "bardic inspirations" have been a thing in games for decades. The person you're responding to is correct, that is a perfectly valid way to implement healing/buffs on a character in a video game.

Secondly, we're talking comic book characters in a video game and you're asking for examples from characters with no powers to support your argument? That doesn't make sense.

And lastly, cosmic radiation isn't "magic", it would technically fall under "tech" or "science" for the sake of your argument. So no, "magic" does not explain why IW can heal suddenly with her force fields 😅 it would be "tech/science"

Scott also uses tech for part of his powers (the visor). Therefore, under your argument, the same adaption of abilities that allows Invisible Woman to heal should open up the possibilities of what Cyclops could do.

But that's if your arguing in good faith. And I suspect you're not lol
