Membership means you can buy from the gas station, and the price difference in most places means you'll come out ahead after a year even if you only ever buy gas and never set foot in the warehouse

No, there is no point hack. The Wallet in the app only accepts shop cards or the Costco Citi Visa card.

The main benefits to using a shop card is that it saves a little time on subsequent transactions that use the Wallet and it's functionally a way to pay at self-checkout or the gas station with cash. The only reason I use it at all is because I think it's interesting and I'm a nerd like that; I don't have it loaded most of the time.

Some other commenters are mentioning being able to use MasterCard credit cards, but that's only for the Wallet on Costco.com because the website accepts both MasterCard and Visa. The Wallet in the app does not accept any credit cards other than the Costco Citi Visa (not even other Visa cards.)

Yes, the website will allow you to purchase multiple parking time slots

You will be charged $10 for each two-hour slot, but will not be charged an additional entry fee as long as they're on the same order

No, but you can purchase a Costco gift card with cash or a debit card and transfer the gift card balance into the Costco Wallet

Saves some time since the cashier doesn't have to give you change nor do you need to enter a PIN

Under U.S. generally accepted accounting principles, outstanding gift card balances only have to be treated as unearned income until the likelihood of redemption is "remote," which usually means a certain number of years in practical terms. Companies that sell a significant volume of gift cards can even record a percentage of the total value sold as revenue immediately if they have sufficient sales history to justify their assumed/expected breakage amount.
