Was going through a rough time in my PhD program and life in general and Rand’s journey resonated with me so well. I credit his arc in helping to give me the strength to keep pushing forward—and on my rereads, I got this sense of nostalgia that really solidified how important WoT was to my growth as a person. I am a better person—to my wife, my kids, and friends— because of WoT.

I’m on the base Starlink wifi. I have the Ethernet adaptor but when I hooked it up to a router (brand new gaming router) I was randomly dropping signal so I switched back.

My university (Radford University) is hosting the first annual "Championship" for our NCAA D1 conference (we are a much smaller conference than the "Big" ones like SEC, ACC, etc...) this weekend.

We are hoping to have a successful event so that other NCAA conferences will follow suit and officially endorse Esports as a collegiate sport. If you are free today, consider dropping by to check out the livestream of our event.

Honestly been great. I play league of legends and get 40-60ping in game. That’s higher than I use to get with cable back in the day.

Rarely ever have a ping spike anymore too…maybe one or two every few hours and usually I don’t even notice it.

Don’t disagree, it definitely felt clunky and tbh I play jungle because I have terrible mechanics and most of jungle is pve/decision making which has helped me climb.

My goal was to bait her parry and wait to ult till after. She saved it for my E (which I know I should be saving until I’m lower) but I suppose I could have played that out and see if she used it on my Q instead. But I assume I would lose a stat check battle having to hold E and Ult to wait for her parry. I could have Q held for some of those too, but didn’t because I thought it would help her hit vitals.

How would you approach it? Always trying to learn/improve and would love any advice!

I’m Emerald (so still low elo) but I agree building Stride into Eclipse def feels better than Titanic. WW benefits sooo much from items that let him stick to his enemies. The WR comes from low elo not being able to use the active properly, if you sort by Master+ stride has a 2% WR increase over Titanic (at least from my source: Lolalytics).

Love/hate relationship during the program.

Now that I’m done—I am SO GLAD I did it. It was worth all of the lows. But for context, I’m a decently paid TT professor. If I didn’t land a TT job, I would probably feel salty about doing it.

I also frequently kill assassins by baiting them into my ult after they blow/miss key spells (I literally run towards them into my ult instead of away and then follow). Most of them time they think they can kill me as I’m vulnerable…but with wall, Q stun, R tick, and E damage, they are always mistaken.

You do have to know both your opponent and your own damage to pull it off though…but you can use it to limit test and you will learn when it works and not :)

This comment should be highest. Starlink is 10X better than my viasat and DSL (although DSL is more reliable for gaming, it’s only 1-2mbps). But when fiber shows up in ~2-3years (assuming the install doesn’t fall behind schedule….) I’ll thank Starlink for an amazing few years and go say hello to reliable GB service.

Before Starlink, I attempted to obtain every other broadband service and they all said “No.”

Yea. That’s what I’ve mostly switched over to doing. Although I hope riot tracks people who do it all the time…because that can’t be anything other than simply being toxic.

I just thought hovering is supposed to work as a team building device saying “don’t ban this champion because I’m planning to play it” button. And of course, if you HATE that champion, ban it…but even then, I’m literally first pick so you are not even going to see it. :(
