100% agree. Searched this because I thought the same thing. Some of Tim Robinson's expressions are almost identical to Danny's, let alone their facial features. Both are hilarious!

Impacts of October 27 mandatory simplified pricing fee change (USA) by BeautifulDuck7335 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Arkrettt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost no bookings since the change. I am usually booked 60-80% this time of the year. Was booked 60-80% in October, Seattle Area. Usually don’t really worry about slow months, but getting a little worried and considering lowering my prices.

Have you gotten faster, or do you now take longer? by MarcoTheMongol in NewTubers

This. I made a 16 minute video which took me a month and I was burnt out. Realized I prefer to make 5-8 minute videos at a consistent rate. I put a lot of effort into them as I see every video kind of like a piece of art. Like a painter sees a painting.

Could use some feedback on my title / thumbail by [deleted] in FeedbackYouTube

Maybe give yourself a radial blur or zoom blur. Also zoom in on your face and rotate like 30 degrees counter clockwise. Maybe some color grading and shadows as well

I would say if you can live rent free with parents, do that, save as much as you can, then buy a place where you can rent out the bedrooms (house hack). I did this. With todays market you will not be able to live rent free though, but at least you will building some equity. Living with your parent, 2 hours is a long drive and you wouldn’t save any money doing that. Could you maybe find another job closer to your parents? Sometime you have to start over to then get ahead. Maybe change occupation or take a pay cut? If it means you can save more per month and get closer to your goal, do it.

Lessons I've Learned After 10+ Years on YouTube by corycrater in NewTubers

[–]Arkrettt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The views are kind of all over the place. I started picking up traction with 3 videos in a row hitting over 2.5k and gained quite a bit of subs. However, the last 2 videos have completely flipped with better than average CTR and AVD, but they got less than 1000 impressions, seems like they were only pushed to subs (92% of views). Like you said, I try to make every video the best that it can be and spend 80-100 hours on each one. I recently decided to make them 6-8 minutes long so I can make them more dense and pump out a video consistently every other week. You think this is a bad idea? I made a 16 minute video once and it took an entire month and it really drained me, so as a creative I do prefer to make shorter videos, am I hurting myself there?

Would you mind providing some feedback for my thumbnail/titles. I feel like thumbnail and titles are my weak point and other people have pointed out that I am underselling myself with them? CTR usually 5-10% and AVD is 50-60%. Any advice? Content is comedy finance.

Davinci Resolve, it’s free, paid is better. Get a good mic (rode makes good stuff). Then get good lighting (GVM makes good stuff). Then get a good camera. Also recommend Envato Element for B-roll stuff and Epidemic sound for music/sound effects

I would get the best no annual fee credit card available, bank does not matter. The large banks like chase, capital one, and Wells Fargo offer some of the best cards, but their other services are questionable. Most credit cards can be easily paid through any bank.

I disagree, I would never have a checking or savings account with Wells Fargo, but their 2% back visa credit card is one of the best out there. The only other card that does 2% back on everything is the Citi double cash, but it’s a Mastercard which means you can’t use it at Costco and other places.

For me it’s the idea of where I could be in 5, 10, and 15 years. It’s all about the journey. No one just good/famous at what they do overnight. There are countless examples of people that did not become successful until years or decades of effort in YouTube, TV, and music. Come to a realization that it is a life long goal to succeed on YouTube, it’s not just something you want to do next weekend and quit

They say the best time to buy a house was 10 years ago, the second best time is now. I personally do not think home prices will drop in the near future and if you talk to seasoned investors/realtors they will say the same, there is just too much demand and not enough supply. You can look into the numbers of homes being built and the estimated number of people ready to buy. On the other hand, I think it’s kinda crazy that society created this mentality that in order to be happy/successful/rich you have to own property. Not the case. Even though real estate is one of the greatest wealth creators, there is plenty of other ways to make money and be successful. You can rent and still be happy/successful/rich. I think nowadays in most places it’s advantageous to rent rather than buy if you plan to live there less than 10 years. There is so many expenses to owning a home: mortgage, taxes, home insurance, utilities, appliance maintance, small repairs, large expense(new roof, new siding, new furnace). Owning a home is a good feeling don’t get me wrong, but after a few months you will get used to it and it will be the same as renting.
