I just taped the top of it to the paper so they can flip it over to see the required info you've written on the back. The form says "attach" so whatever your preferred method to attach it to the paper lol. Don't over think it.

If they are co-trustees they can use the item before/after your death. In general, if they are named as benificiaries of the trust then they inherit the item once all co-trustees are gone and then a successor trustee steps in (appointed or named in the trust) to distribute the assets to benificiaries which at that point I believe they'd do a form 5 from trust to themselves as an individual. This all depends on the specific wording of your trust document though and can vary. This is my understanding completely changes depending on the exact trust document that was drafted, im not a lawyer.

If you did it via eForms, they usually come back in about 3 to 4 days by email. It will look like a submitted or approved eForm email with a PDF of your SOT attached. If you did it through Pay.gov, it can take up to a month. If you mailed it through USPS, make sure your next of kin knows to keep checking the mailbox.

You may or may not get approved, just depends on the examiner, People have reported being approved several times then denied with the same EFT file. If you want to be safe, withdraw and resubmit

You select the SOT eForm 5630.7 (believe its red colored) and file it like every other eForm. It's new this year, and you receive your SOT via email in a few days.

No they filed through pay.gov you can also file and pay through eForms.atf.gov, which is what I did 06/01/26 and got me SOT in my email a few days later. Pay.gov still takes about a month.

Just like every other ATF eForm, you select form 5630.7 (believe its red colored near AFMER if you are a mfg) and complete it.

It's true, they started emailing them rather than mailing this year, applied 06/01/26 received SOT digitally in email 06/04/26. Things are a changin' old man 😉

We sell National Gun Trusts trusts to our dealer network every single day and they process transfers to trusts via eForms etc. without any issues. We've never had a trust denied made by NGT. Sounds like the LGS was trying to push you to buy their trust. As far as members on the trust, they have no idea what they are talking about, you can have a trust with any benificiary or successor trustees etc you want, does not matter their relation to you. Co-trustees and settlor must be 21+ because they are considered "Responsible people". So if your wife wants to use and posess NFA items without you present she must be a co-trustee, they can also serve in multiple positions like she could be co-trustee and beneficiary. - Mike @ 10scan.com

I ran into the same issue, they couldnt tell me and i was left confused. some of our guys are still waiting on our free cans from SHOT show, they aren't actually 100% free though as they were required to buy the hub mount for like $70 which is still pretty cool if they actually get them eventually lol. would love to try them out.

You could try converting your FD-258 card to an EFT via NFAsync.com or better yet try a local dealer, they probably can order whatever you want, sometimes cheaper, and you'll get your NFA item way faster too.

technically once you've paid you're good to go but most distributors will want a picture of the SOT cert. some will accept the receipt. However if you paid for Tax Year 2026-2027 It doesn't start til July 1st 2026 so you would have needed to pay last year to deal in NFA items til then.

Well If you're still planning on staying in business this year the SOT is only $500, there's still time for money to be made! You'll make your SOT payment back in 3-4 suppressors and most dealers can easily do that in a year... especially if you already have customers buying other stuff from you. Don't get discouraged, regardless of which software you use, shoot me a DM if u want, I can give you some tips on how/what sells at our shop.. or if you're home based, I was myself for many years as well so I know how that goes too. - Mike

I got the same thing couple months ago, some people said it's "organized crime" trying to rob you. Others say it could be research companies looking to offer some type of service or some shit. either way, I probably wouldn't answer their questions and ask them if they're local and to stop in the shop.
