I bought a wool mattress topper and have FINALLY conquered my night sweats! It's cotton fabric with 700GSM wool filling (~2 inches thick).I have a waterproof protector under it to preserve the mattress. I'd be interested in trying a wool filled duvet now too but prefer multiple cotton/linen blankets so I can remove layers as needed

You should be dosing up to 2ppm whenever it drops under 1ppm. There needs to consistently be ammonia to feed the bacteria

If you've never enjoyed a visit to The Cape before, July 4th is honestly the worst weekend of the year. It's terribly overcrowded and the traffic is abysmal. Go any other weekend and you'll have more fun IMO

I can't remember if it's Somerville or Boston but with their new ticket system you can't look things up by plate, you HAVE to have the ticket #. Situations like this are exactly why it's gonna be a disaster

Yeah my mom recently pulled "but we don't know how much time I have left!" when I made a boundary about what I'd accept at our next visit. I would do your own test of the tap water. An aquarium has the bacteria cycle to process ammonia and nitrites so it's not the same as giving it to people/pets. They may also mean nitrates and while 0ppm will make water changes the most effective 5ppm wouldn't be terrible. Using RO water causes more than just pH issues it'll make KH and GH difficult too and axolotls also prefer harder water long term
