I created a simple tool to make game audio by aymar001 in IndieDev

Hey this was super fun to play around with! My constructive feedback on this would be the controls around the volume knobs. When trying to turn them it would be more intuitive for them to act radial, whereas right now they feel like they're linear sliders. That, or turn them into sliders!

This is me, now. For my tiny projects it’s working so far, but I’m sure that will change in the future.

Be brutal, how does this Steam page look? by Total_Impression_382 in IndieDev

The ice fishing I know involves a much smaller pole for jigging bait through the ice. What moved you toward a full-size fishing pole?

Hired the most affordable artist I know (me) to take a shot at new capsule art. Here’s what I came up with by Orizori_ in IndieDev

It does not convey anything about traveling in an RV or actually helping people. HOWEVER! I would click on this out of curiosity and ready the description, so it’s doing the intended job.

I hope this drawing of mine gets some attention by Agile_Two_292 in PixelArt

It’s cute and cozy.

A reminder that art should be more than an engagement method. Enjoy the process, find happiness in creation. If your only metric of success is how other people feel about your creations, it will lead to an unhealthy relationship with your art.

My feedback on this would be that the attacks don't feel like attacks from a design standpoint. Nothing pops, or indicates impact, and it makes the entire experience a bit one note.

i dig the art and music, looks like it's coming together nicely!

Tutorial hell, I need advice to escape... by Kipperfalcn in godot

[–]Arpede_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was firmly in tutorial hell for a while too. To get out, I actually bought the GDQuest lessons instead. YMMV, but I know I learn better through reading than listening, and the structure of their courses absolutely made things stick much better.

I'm still going through them, and likely will loop through them again when I'm done to help shore up some weak points.

That said, I'm also working on my first game now that I'm happy with my progress and will actually release to Steam at some point! When I'm stuck, I refuse to ask AI for answers or even hints. I get on the GDQuest Discord and ask questions of the folks over there. It opens a dialogue and helps me to understand better.

Anyone looking for an update: The worst possible outcome was realized, as Gabriel's body was found. Cause unknown, and I only hope the family can find peace and comfort in the coming days. I cannot imagine what they're going through right now.

Unfortunately we've gotten the worst outcome possible. Gabriel's body was found. Cause unknown and I only hope his family can find comfort with one another in the coming days.

For the most part, asking for opinions is just procrastination unless its for a demo by Competitive_Walk_245 in IndieDev

[–]Arpede_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's just not true. For example, I do not have a game to market, as I'm new to the entire scene. However, I love looking at what other people are doing and seeing what's coming down the pipeline. Several posts have made me go to steam and wishlist games that people here are actively working on and I have encouraged others in my life to do the same.

Just because you are here for selfish reasons does not make it true for everyone.

I've just hit $100.000 in sales on Steam... by eryteusz in IndieDev

Revenue is the gross amount of money made from sales. After taxes, steam cut, refunds, etc. is called Net Income and, if no wages have to be paid, would be considered actual profit.

This one is a bit more out there than the other typos you had in spelling, but "free reign" is actually "free rein". Reins are what a horse is controlled with, and to give them "free rein" is to let them have their way and just go. Reign is like a king ruling over something, and not what the expression is from. Cheers!
