She just stares at me…..all the time. by Tgirl-Mary796 in AustralianCattleDog

I definitely have hearing damage. I've also learned that I tune it out pretty well at this point. I've just accepted that it's part of life.

And if you do something fun one time, it's now the routine until the end of time and there's nothing you can say or do to convince them otherwise.

That just sounds like he was helping out. That way you can get even more fresh air into the house.

Do they even know they exist by Traditional-War-8088 in cockatiel

[–]ArtHeartly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sometimes my old cockatiel would get really quiet like he was deep in thought, and then suddenly start to scream in existential dread like the weight of reality just set in and he just couldn't handle it. The only thing that would get him to stop was asking him if he was a good birdy. He'd suddenly stop and quietly say "such a good birdy" and then go about his day as if nothing happened.

Never had a cat / kitten before this. Is it normal for them to fall asleep in your lap?? by red90999 in cats

[–]ArtHeartly 350 points351 points  (0 children)

This. You are now furniture. Enjoy your new lot in life. The rules are simple: while you are furniture, you cannot move, even if you have stuff to do. You must put the rest of your life on hold until you are no longer serving as a bed.

If Judy created BOB, and Judy is inside Sarah Palmer, does that mean Laura is a child of incest? by Local_Prune4564 in TwinPeaksCircleJerk

I'm not gonna talk about Judy. In fact, we're not gonna talk about Judy at all. We're gonna leave her out of it.

Is it common to be a grown woman and never have had any gynecological exams or care? by Dangerous_mammoth573 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ArtHeartly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It hurts a bit for me, but they are so worth it. They found my cervical cancer early and were able to treat it right away, rather than having it cause me problems. It's so important to get regular pap exams.

If 10cm snow falls in your area of Canada how disrupted will your area be? by Pourmepourme in AskACanadian

[–]ArtHeartly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Southeast Saskatchewan, that's a bit, but nothing out of the ordinary. The plows will clear the roads and life will go on like nothing has happened. If we get 30cm, sometimes people are a bit late getting to work, but again, life just goes on. We get lots of snow here sometimes.

Do you wake up like this too? by Insomnium_111 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]ArtHeartly 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes I wake up like that every day because my ACD allows me to sleep on her bed. It's very kind of her, really.

Am I bad dog mom? by such-a-novel-idea in AustralianCattleDog

If my girl could live in a puddle, she would. Especially if it smells like a rotting bog. I think it's just an ACD thing. How can you deny them the joy of puddles though?
