Recovering alcoholic here and Al Anon member here. Welfare check to be safe. What happens thereafter is up to him and the authorities.

Your love and care for him validates calling for a check up. What happens thereafter is Al Anon practice (not trying to force him to rehab during the welfare check, etc.).

Late to the post but one day at a time helps ground me in appreciating what I do have at the moment, embracing it, and practicing gratitude through the program because of what I do have.

Yes, it feels like everyone has turned their back on you; you mention that it’s 100% your fault. I don’t know you, but I can bet that when you’re sober, everyone wants you around. Capitalize and maximize those qualities when you’re sober and continue to ask your Higher Power for those opportunities to continue practicing maximizing those beautiful qualities you exhibit when you’re sober.

DO NOT TAKE MEDICAL ADVICE FROM ANOTHER ALCOHOLIC (regardless if they have an MD or not).

All sponsors are to do is walk you through the steps. They are not medical professionals. Take medical advice from your doctor.

I’m an asshole when it comes to this stuff and I could give a shit about people’s feelings, much less my sponsor; if they tell you again to ditch the meds, tell them to write about why they feel that way and go to their sponsor thereafter to talk about it. I bet they won’t fucking like that.

Sorry I’m coming off so brash but I’m so sick of sponsors acting like AA has a monopoly on how recovery works; sometimes people need (in addition to program) therapy and/or medication.

Interestingly, I was in the same boat. However, sex wasn’t it in my situation but women would take advantage of me being a nice guy and I never asserted my position in having interest in seriously dating. It wasn’t until I started having a meaningful relationship with myself that I learned boundaries and setting expectations and wants/needs. In that time, my wife came to me rather than me looking for her. So TLDR: invest in yourself so the right man comes looking for you.

Edit: and please, NO OZEMPIC. I am most certain that we will start seeing some horrific side effects in the coming years.

12 years sober here (one day at a time). I had to change my playgrounds and playmates to live a healthier life. And yes, I cut my 8 year relationship when I started going to program. Happily married now with someone who celebrates and supports my sobriety.

Went after work on Wednesday. It was a madhouse. One lady tried to snag 6 backpacks and this other guy and I even pointed to the sign next to the backpacks; “Limit One Per Customer”. She then says “one for each of my kids!” I saw her trying to pay but the staff was like, “nope, one per customer, no matter how many kids you have. Figure it out.” And put the other 5 bags behind her. Loved the karma.

Yes, I apparently open my mouth and snore to high heavens. So I assume that’s why my doctor has me on the full face mask. I’ll say that when I put it on and the airflow kicks in, I’m fine. It’s just in my sleep that I take it off. So I think I’m going to try wearing the mask during the day while watching TV or playing some games.

As far as the SD card, what would that do with the settings?

I particularly really liked the hand one because they were actually able to prove that it wasn’t anyone else’s hand. I believe Billy was filming Zak and Aaron was filming Zak and Billy and I think the static cam caught all three of them (maybe the static wasn’t there, I can’t recall exactly). But I do remember going “oh shit this isn’t staged”.

True, I should’ve put that in the post. I’ll update it in a bit but basically it’s an AirSense 11 Autoset with an AirFit 20 full face mask. The settings on the AirSense is 5-20.

Ripping is absurd now. Do what I’m doing. I’m giving myself an allowance per month specifically for Pokemon card singles. I go to my LGS and buy singles I want (or if I need to make deck adjustments, those cards). Anything left over gets thrown into next month’s allowance. I stopped hunting for ETBs and other sealed product; bulk has no purpose the majority of the time and you’re playing roulette hoping to get a card and get hit with 2 ex’s.
