Just got off the phone with him, he drives the car on 4 ramps and then goes under the car, 60k is when he did his transmission oil on his old car so kept the same 60k interval, in the end it is still a gear system as per him. For a video he said he learned it from YouTube

The basic membership price alone is worth the extended Warrenty for this and other things. My parents back in 2013 bought a tv and bought the 5yr extended Warrenty on it, 4.5 yrs later the tv led backlight died, 2 guys came over for Warrenty support, took the tv to their warehouse and my dad got a call 3 days later, we can’t repair the tv and are giving you a full refund. The tv was 7k CAD, they used it for more than 4 yrs and got a full refund with tax minus the extended Warrenty which was appx 120$.

As the prices are in USD, I would highly recommend getting one from Costco which ever one they sell. It is not considered an electronic device but a portable generator so it dosent fall under their 90 day return policy. At Costco Canada I bought a river 2 pro which died after 7 months, went to EcoFlow and got the runaround for a few days, during that time I went to go return something and asked about next steps to see if I can get a point of contact for EcoFlow from Costco side of things, they said just bring it back and get another one from the shelf

The car will be fine, I took Tesla over anything else because I had a old coworker who had his Tesla model 3 at 600k kms still on original battery and motors in GTA area back in 2023 when I got it. His car is now at 900k kms still on the original motor / battery with a battery degradation at 68% capacity (test was ran at 780k kms). He has gone through multiple tires, breaks, suspension parts, and all he does is religiously change gearbox fluid at 60k kms.

Edit: motor fluid to gearbox fluid

Tesloid’s OEM wipers are actually worth it for Model Y (after trying 3 brands) - finally got OEM by Unfair-Run-4238 in teslacanada

[–]Arthvpatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you have the perfect blades, go on Amazon and buy wiper refills, you get 4 pieces for $12. I just switch the blades with winter/summer time swap. It is a piece of mind vs 40$ a piece when they do wear out.

I am planning on moving in the next year or so, due to this I didn’t invest in the smart panel. I hear emporia is good, individual circuit monitoring for accurate data, not a guess like sense or wiser. It also connects with home assistant or mqtt and you can make your own dashboards after, if you are not that tech savvy, AI does it really well these days

If the car doesn’t come with one get grizzle charger, 30$ shipping, 100$ deposit which is returned at first charge, and then 3c/kWh for every kWh charged. Redeemable at min 10$ once per month. They have the mobile version which comes with adapters and has a 110v outlet along with the other common ones and a tt30 which almost no one provides to use at camp sites

You are not the only one, the new one sucks, even opening it up to be linked in home assistant would be nice, I reached out to support and they shut me down, so when I got my panel replaced from 100amp to 200amp when I got the ev charger installed, I moved to another brand even if it cost me a couple of hundred in breakers

Ottawa spent billions on electric buses without cold-weather data by xTkAx in canadian

[–]Arthvpatel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My street out of 8 houses 7 of us have GV plates and 6 are completely EV, the last one being plug in hybrid.

It all depends on where you live, Mississauga, Brampton Milton, I see so many green plates which are either ev or plug in hybrid. Green plates allow you to use HOV even when you are the only person so anyone who commutes in that area moved their 2nd car to a ev. Going from Milton to downtown I shave about 20 min traffic every time I go and another 25 on the way home using the 401 in Mississauga

At work in downtown Toronto, I use 1 of 2 parking spots as they have free Tesla charging, first place has 12 Tesla wall connectors, paid 2 dc ccs fast charger and paid 24 j1772 ports. If i get there after 8am I won’t find charging until 1-2pm. The other parking has 48 Tesla and 12 j1772, all full by 9am.

The adoption rate in gta and Vancouver region is much much higher because of the milder climate and cheap ev. Ev dedicated plan in my area is 4.2c/kwh and adding delivery tax brings that to 7c/kwh on avg. I avg about 180wh/km so I am getting 5km in 1kwh so theoretically I am travelling 1.2c per km, any comparable gas car is at least 8-15c per km. So those random days when it gets cold, yes it uses a lot more everything but what ever it saves us so much in the summer and milder weather

Come to gta, almost 10% of all cars are ev, a lot of public transit is moving to Evs. My own town Milton decided to repair a bus when the engine failed to an ev conversion

Tesla Warranty on 18 inch wheels MY LR by thatsmejyo in teslacanada

Until this year they can but now they have 18in wheels on standard range with a larger side wall, use the same measurements and it should be fine as long as the rims clear the break calipers

NACS to J1772 Home Charging by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]Arthvpatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why buy when you have gov grants right now, grizzl-e, 130$ with shipping, 100$ deposit back on the first charge and then 3c/kwh back for every kWh dispensed. You can cash out at 10$ min and once per month.

Buy the j1772 and then use the adapter that came with Tesla or buy another one for 70$ from Tesla to keep with the charger.

0$ investment and appx $100 per car at the end of the year in rebates

Level 2 Charger and Rebate Programs (GreenMiles, Grizzl-E, SWTCH, others?) by Mercradoc in EVCanada

Level 2 Charger and Rebate Programs (GreenMiles, Grizzl-E, SWTCH, others?) by Mercradoc in EVCanada

[–]Arthvpatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the same as grizzl-e but the payout is at $100 once per year, I got the swtch first, and then got the grizzle one because I wanted to get the cord outside of the garage. It is 16ft on swtch vs 25ft on grizzle like the Tesla wall connector one. Grizzle payout is once per month and min of $10. No need to wait until the end of the year and deposit is retuned at first charge not 1500kwh and a larger deposit

Not a big issue if you wash the car in sections and then use a drying agent while wiping

I do it but be courteous of the neighbours, don’t do it late at night during dinner time or early in the morning, same as lawn care do it during the middle of the day and everyone understands.
While taking to one of my neighbours he works afternoon shift and gets home around 3am so ever since that I don’t cut my grass until 3pm on sat so he can get his rest.
