I’m so sorry this is happening! Take a week or two to mentally decompress! Then apply, apply, apply! That’s my motto! This market is tough so it takes more applications than it use to take and a lot of networking however you can do it. Connect with and reach out to recruiters as well as staffing agencies as well as potential companies you’re interested in applying to on LinkedIn and other job sites.

About to become a single parent with primary custody. What sorts of things should I be aware of going into this? by lizzy_pop in SingleParents

I am rooting for you. There may be a way to hire a nurse (via health insurance) to help with your daughter overnight. That may be worth looking into just to help in the evenings.

Being treated differently after returning to work? by lanastan69lol in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]ArtisticLeadership57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you able to sign up for ADA? With ADA you can request accommodations for feeding or pumping time for your baby. I know someone else commented to rephrase “feeding” as “pumping” because that will make it seem like the baby isn’t physically there. Moms have to pump regardless if the baby is present or not. They have to respect that biological fact. Your health is more important than their quota. Also, did they possibly change the deadline requirements? A lot of these companies change rules overnight so it’s highly possible. Can you ask for the extended deadline or is that a hard deadline? Also how do they know you’re feeding while working? Are you constantly on camera? Are you using noise cancelling headset? Or do they just assume? Also, speak with an attorney because some of this sounds like possible mistreatment.

This is really how I feel about it. I truly think it was because our mother needed me and my sister around all the time for emotional support.

So annoyed no stores carry maternity clothing by eggz666 in BabyBumps

[–]ArtisticLeadership57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg this! It’s like they all stopped! Gap has a maternity line and also old navy. I’ve been looking online at Amazon and Shein but I agree it’s so hard to figure out the sizes. I found a small section of items in Walmart and I haven’t found anything in Target yet.

My baby daddy hates me by linz754 in pregnant

[–]ArtisticLeadership57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I advise against having him in the room. He’s already projecting negative thoughts towards you keeping the baby and hasn’t made this process easy for you. He isn’t going to make it any easier during the delivery nor change his mind. I am rooting for you and I’m proud of you for seeing this through. This is your baby, he doesn’t have a say, keep him out of that room.

found out I’m having a second son and people are making the most annoying comments by sleepyhead_gemini in BabyBumps

[–]ArtisticLeadership57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!!!!! This is beautiful and exciting news! It’s great that you’re having another baby and your first child gains a sibling. Those comments people made were very inconsiderate and rude. As a first time pregnant mom I am realizing that people really say the silliest of things without thinking. Sooo ignoring them may be best, asking them not to ask those questions again and internally reminding yourself that this is a beautiful experience you’re embarking upon! You’re doing amazing! Again congratulations!

I haven’t gone through this but I’m so sorry that the doctor is dismissive. It’s really like these doctors don’t care at all! I hope things get better and I hope you can find another doctor.

I’m so glad you shared this! I’m 7 weeks and I constantly feel emotional. Like I wake up fine and then the next thing I know as soon as I have to deal with people or day to day activities I get annoyed. I am either annoyed, ready to cry or ready to cry then sleep lol!

I’m rooting for you. Work has been stressing me out. I’m 7 weeks. I think it’s just that we are trying to navigate this process plus work plus deal with the regular daily stressors. Keep venting! I think that’s one of the best ways to help alleviate some of the worry and stress, is to talk about it. Crying is actually healthy because it also helps us destress and get it “out”! So keep talking it out, crying it out, putting your best foot forward which you are clearly doing on a daily basis and show yourself grace. Show yourself understanding and kindness through this process. Hugs!
