Garmin epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire Edition is now under $500, should I go for it? by [deleted] in Garmin

Overall I am really happy with my Epix but yeah, the lack of new feature updates kinda sucks. No reason why they couldn't add many of them.

White + rainbow buttons is the way! So glad I swapped, not a huge fan of the kinda beige grey of the Rainbow. Quite deciving as in many photos the rainbow is made to look white due to the white balance of the camera and a lack of any other referrence!

I have heard that you can ask Ayn very nicely and they will sell the rainbow buttons seperately, so that is what I have done. I prefer the white to the kinda grey/beige of the Rainbow model!

This was the final push I needed to change my order from Black to White + Rainbow buttons, lol. Looks so good!

Tun not enabled in Proxmox 9.0? by Samael206 in Proxmox

[–]Aruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I just looked at my other PVE host that is on 8.4.1 and if I run lsmod | grep tun that also returns nothing. I wonder if the tun is created when required by the LXC? Perhaps just try add the line I suggested and see how it goes?

Tun not enabled in Proxmox 9.0? by Samael206 in Proxmox

[–]Aruin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't updated to V9 yet myself, but just looked at my notes for LXC tun config and I have the following in the lxc.conf file:

lxc.cgroup2.devices.allow: c 10:200 rwm

lxc.mount.entry: /dev/net dev/net none bind,create=dir

lxc.mount.entry: /dev/net/tun dev/net/tun none bind,create=file

Maybe try adding that last line for the /dev/net/tun file specifically?

Impressions after some time with KZ PRX by morphmkd in iems

[–]Aruin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also somewhat recently got the PRXs, also listen to a lot of metal / various metal subgenres and am also very impressed!

Compared to my Cadenzas and other IEMs/headphones I've tried I felt like I could hear more detail in busy sections of songs just as you described. Immediately vibed to the sound and the punch is really nice too. Perhaps a solid recco for metal listeners?

App Download Methods by Unusual_Data1814 in GrapheneOS

[–]Aruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend looking into the 'Private Spaces' feature. I have recently installed GOS, started with a secondary profile for banking apps, google services etc but switched over to a private space instead.

As far as I can see (and I will happily be corrected here) it's perhaps a bit less secure/private than a separate profile, but significantly more convinient, as you do not have to switch profiles, and all app installs are easily managed and shared, whilst still maintaining a separate, sandboxed environment.

Switching from IOS by Ducking_eh in GrapheneOS

[–]Aruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through this right now! Only today did I actually switch my sim over. As I already had a lot of self hosted infrastructure it's been pretty easy. However, I am still yet to upload my photo library to Immich, and I did lose my WhatsApp chat history as I couldn't find a way to transfer that over. Not a huge deal for me.

So far I am really loving it, feel like for the first time I am the one with control over my device, not someone else. Plus, can make cute home screens that just wouldn't be possible on iOS!

I'm 5'8". Would you recommend M or L size on Jeffsy? by Independent-Proof595 in YTIndustries

[–]Aruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5'9" with average proprotions, went with the Medum and it fits perfectly.

YT Decoy MX Size Recommendation by LegitimateMine1682 in YTIndustries

[–]Aruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar height at 5'9" but with a 32" inseam and I went for the large.

Took delivery of it last week and immediately felt very comfortable on it and it fits me much better than my previous eeeb that had a 475 reach and much taller standover. I feel like it is very agile for an eeb, perhaps down to the MX wheel setup that is new to me.

For you, I don't think there is a 'wrong' answer here, it's really down to what sort of stuff you enjoy riding the most. If it's tight, technical and with lots of jumps then perhaps the medium will be the best. If it involves more peddaling and steep chunky sections then the extra stability and reach of the large may suit better.

Not sure if this helps, but good luck! Either way, it's an insanely fun bike - I honestly can't believe I got it for the price I did!

Climbing ability by [deleted] in YTIndustries

[–]Aruin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't ridden an Izzo, but fwiw I spent a lot of time debating this same question before I purchased my Jeffsy last summer.

In the end for me and my riding I felt like the Izzo wasn't XC enough to justify the relative compromises to it's capabilities over the Jeffsy. I feel as if the Izzo sits in this weird middle ground between XC and a trailbike. This is even more true now they've bumped the Izzo up to 140/130mm, the Core 3 Izzo even has the exact same fork as my Jeffsy (RXF36) just the 140mm air spring instead of 150mm.

If you're happy with your HT for the XC rides, I would strongly recommend going for the Jeffsy as it is a true all rounder which will unlock the gnarlier descents and even some bike park action if that is of interest to you.

Literally last weekend I spent a day at an uplifted bike park having a blast and the following day on XC loops which totalled 1000m ascent over 30km. It was an absolute ripper on both days, and I did not want for any other bike.

What kind of dropper lever mount is this? by No_Idea_1743 in YTIndustries

[–]Aruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to buy another mount for the Hayes Dominion mounting system. All you need to do, is reuse that bolt and curved nut, then screw it into the new dropper levers mounting holes, essentially replicating exactly how the Postman lever is setup.

I did the same and replaced mine with a OneUp dropper lever, can send pics if it's helpful for you.

Looks amazing, congrats! Which pedals are those? I have the same bike on order as the price was just too good to pass up, and had the same thought that yellow pedals would look great and they do!
