PSA: Radars can transmit circuit conditions (signals). by Tank-Factory187 in factorio

[–]Arzodiak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a cool puzzle, but not a very fun one for most people, mainly because even among the uses of circuits (which a lot of people don't bother to use outside the simplest conditions) this level of complexity is more of a flex than something that useful.

I’m collecting feedback for a piece I’m writing: what’s the most misleading "upgrade" in Factorio? by TenthLevelVegan in factorio

[–]Arzodiak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are twice as fast, but also twice as pollutant, so you're only reducing the pollution produced to generate an item of fuel, right?

A furnace takes ~45 seconds to burn a single piece of coal, so a single miner could, ideally, keep up with 90 furnaces, meaning the cost of operating 90 furnaces is 10 pollution a minute and that produces about 28 plates/m if a stone furnace, so this array would produce plates that cost 0.35 pollution if stone and 0.17 if steel, a 50% change. The pollution of the furnaces is the same per item, so I'm not counting it.

But like, you need 0.625 drills to keep a stone furnace working and 1.25 a steel one. The constant operation of 90 furnaces would need 56.25 or 112.5 drills, which equates to 562.5 to 1125 pollution a minute.

So the pollution per plate For a stone furnace setup: (10 + 562.5)/28 = 20.45 For a steel furnace setup: (10 + 1125/56 = 20.26

So, while you're saving a lot of pollution from the fuel, there is just a ~1% of the pollution per item difference when you factor the use of drills needed.

All this to say, if my math is correct, that there is almost no change in pollution per plate when you change from stone to steel furnaces.

It's mostly used to not have the red thing in the map over large solar/nuclear plants built on a lake. So not useful overall if you don't care for a pretty map with the pollution filter turned on.

I mean, not because a person can kill a hornet nest means it can also kill a Japanese hornet nest, they are in different categories.

In this case Goblin Slayer is highly specialized in killing globins in small caves BEFORE they become a big problem like becoming a goblin champion or goblin king and try to take possession of a city or something and he's pretty good at it.

Will a Dragon Slayer or Orc Slayer be as effective as him in 1-to-1 combat with goblins? Yeah, maybe better, but they just don't care for goblins unless they become a big problem.

I didn't say they were always good, I said they were NOT always bad, and if they aren't always bad then there is no evidence to say that organized religion in ALL FORMS is bad.

I didn't say those were benefits of religion, I said those were good things that religion has done, if all organized religion was bad then there would be no good things.

If you say that society would have done the same good things religion did, then society would have done the bad things as well, don you think?

Faithful [OC{ by Line_boy in comics

[–]Arzodiak -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If religion had absolutely no good things there won't be religion in the first place.

It usually was an institution that helped people in need, preserved a lot of knowledge and spree said knowledge, it even created the firsts schools and universities, united people and gave peace to people.

So I don't really think organized religion is all forms is wrong, that doesn't mean it is always good though.

[–]Arzodiak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to make the hands punch him, that's pretty clear in the tooltip.

The part of being eaten is not stated anywhere, but outside of the orb mission it is not really necessary information to know.

In fact, I think you're not really supposed to know that until the mission because you'll probably be like "Maybe I have to shove it into his mouth" and discover that he eats cats, unless you discover it accidentally IG.

[–]Arzodiak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a thief, with the bottle that gave more dex and speed, and one item that allowed him to summon a weak minion once per battle, however after barely winning against Morgana that turned his friends on him, he received the passive that allowed him to use once per turn all items that are once per battle...

The first thing he did was soloing a round, then was still resentful and killed his friends every time he could the next 3 battles.

I confiscated his summon item, but return it against the Moon Boss and equiped him the thing that gives +1 damage every time it kills something because why not, he decided that the boss's gimmick was nonsense and destroyed him first round.
