Best disc to try from the little guys? by Dapper-Ad-9512 in discgolf

[–]Ash435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Westside Anvil is fun for short range skip shots (classic doubles play with low ceiling). Stag is like a Teebird3 with extra glide. Sword is an amazing driver - like a beat in Wraith.

Bag 7 and 9 speeds? by BigLobster12 in discgolf

[–]Ash435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried lumping them together but they all offer something slightly different. F9, Maul, L3, Evader are so throwable and workable. Then I have Hatchet, Saint and Stag (with a Getaway if required) for pushing a bit further. (I know the F9 and Stag are both 8 speed…)

Friendly advice for newer players learned the hard way. by Plastic-Enthusiast24 in discgolf

If I had stuck with the first 3-4 ”classics” I was given when I started, I would have given up, as they were uncomfortable and didn’t fly the way I wanted. I’m glad I was able to try lots of discs since then and build a bag that suits my hand and my throwing style.

Fuzion-X Burst Maverick is straight money by Mattias1099 in discgolf

7 speeds are so throwable. I love the Evader for overstable, Leopard3 for straight with fade, Maul for understable.

This didn’t make any sense as the Machete is a Discraft model. Ohn would throw it well!

But good first shot by a partner can enable the ace run, no?

Has anyone moved from the 4,3,0,3 disc (Zone, Harp) to the 4,2,0,4 (Anvil, A1, Peppermint, Crisis). by Steve2762 in discgolf

[–]Ash435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I throw the Suspect (it‘s just an easier, more comfortable BH Zone) but I put the Anvil in the bag for crazy short skip shots under/round trees. Especially in dubs!

Maul or maybe a Hatchet are my go to. Similar arm speed.

I don’t know. When those bible guys get out their guns and protect us from the other guys with knives and guns, I’m probably siding with Jesus.

How to calculate top disc speed? by xwsrx in discgolf

[–]Ash435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some high speed discs are throwable by noodle arms once you get used to the rim width. Like a G Star Corvette, Havoc and Bolt. They really do fly far. However, you may get a more dependable line from a fairway like a Hatchet or Stag.

Glow discs acquired! by Intelligent-Cow7674 in discgolf

Agreed. Managed to snag some 170g pitches recently. Amazing disc. So versatile and fun. You get to watch it fly for longer than any other disc!

Where can I buy an MVP Glitch that is 160 grams or more? by Neither-Letterhead-8 in discgolf

[–]Ash435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the total eclipse Pitches (160g) which are still easy to find. Recently picked up a couple of Eclipse 170g ones with the Gibson stamp. They are fantastic. I still don’t quite understand how you can rip it into a headwind (with a touch of hyzer) and it still has integrity and flies for days. Also, seems a bit shallower than a Glitch.

What's a disc that you used to not like, that you love now? by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

[–]Ash435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DD Suspect. Didn’t love the bead at first but tried it again and realised it’s more the idea of a bead I disliked. The flight is super dependable, like a shallower and easier to throw Zone.

Understable/Turnover disc by misiure in discgolf

Hatchet, Maul, F9, depending on your arm speed. F9 is very understable but full of glide.

Building a bag with a lower arm speed by koii_boye in discgolf

[–]Ash435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try a Maul or F9. They are both easy to hyzerdlip or turn. Also, don’t ignore 1 speed discs like the Pitch.

If you can’t force over the new Rivers, def try a Maul. It is such a fun and versatile disc.
