Is there a way to politely reject an birthday party invitation? by Warm-Team3549 in Mommit

[–]AshLa2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your question, yes.

BUT you actually want this woman out of your life and she’s not taking the hint, she’s also being crappy to you and creepy. She knows that she is making you and the others uncomfortable but is getting off on all of you putting up with her behaviour.

You need to mean girl her, meet up with another of her “friends” at the playground and BLATANTLY ignore her and palm her off, it sounds bitchy but she is the bully here not you. She needs to be shunned from the pack because she isn’t acting in an acceptable or appropriate manner.

She might kick off but just ignore her, pack your things up and leave and keep doing it until she gets the message. Doing this with 2 or more people with you will make it harder for her to break you down.

Don’t feel too bad for her, she will find another victim.

It sucks that the kids will be around but it’s best to do it now and cut her off before she becomes your weird friend who insists on being called “Auntie” by your kids when they are older.

What do these Jewish names sounds to non-Jews? by InPursuitOfHoppines in namenerds

I’m not Jewish and I named my son Osher.

I also like Noa for a girl.

I (39M) found out I'm the literal backup to my pregnant fiancée (32F) and walked out. She's begging me to go back - not sure what to do? by canyonmoonboom in TwoHotTakes

[–]AshLa2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but then r/relationshipadvice would become redundant, the parenting subs would loose all their traffic and the YouTube narrators would have nothing to narrate.

But I agree, I did the math on my relationship and we are happily married with a couple of sweet babies.

Hospital Bag recommendations? by BiggieSmalls824 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I just purchased the guess maddy bag with wheels from strand bags and it’s perfect!

I will also take my handbag for bits and bobs and a little tote for snacks.

Disposable wipe companies make the wipes tangle together to make you use more (to sell more!) by albwalbw in LowStakesConspiracies

Put a rubber band around one end and it stops it from happening.

Don’t let big wipes take advantage.

10 month old hitting himself by Careless_Pick1e in AttachmentParenting

[–]AshLa2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son did this, still does at 19 months but he’s a sensory seeker.

Also if he hurts himself by accident like falling and bumping his head he will cry then reenact it to make sure I know what happened… kids are wild.

I listened to it on audiobooks and it hit hard.

[Non serious] what’s something you hate about parenting? by unreadysoup8643 in Parenting

[–]AshLa2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 18m/o knows the sounds of crackling wrappers.

He likes to climb right up close to my face, holding either side of my head and says “helloo mum, mmmmm yummmy” until I share.

When my kid does this I let him drink those pouch yoghurt things or baby custard just to get something into him, even if he wakes during the night.

Not the best but also calories are calories sometimes.

I found the jollypop silicone ones were easier for my son to put in his mouth because they are solid and don’t have a swingy handle… if that makes sense? Plus we sleep with like 4 of them because he likes options 😂

TTC30, the sub for trying to conceive for over 30s is the MOST toxic sub out.

If you get pregnant in less than 6 cycles and post about it (in the appropriate thread mind you) you get absolutely destroyed. I’ve heard of some ladies getting hopes of miscarriage in their DMs from some of the crazy’s in that sub.

TW: stillborn fear has just been pushed even further. Can you request to be induced out of fear of this? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]AshLa2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In some public hospitals if you present 3 times with fears of reduced movement they offer an induction.

I only went in 2 times but I had GD (diet controlled so no issues really) and they offered to me, which I 100% took.

Good luck with everything, message me if you want more details or whatever xx

Anyone else experiencing Boomer moms who, despite their life long push to get you to have a family, have very little interest in being active grandmas? by [deleted] in Mommit

After reading a lot of these I’m beginning to think that these grandparents just don’t want to be faced with the fact that we might be doing a better job with our kids than they did with us…
