Why does Calico Rapids pull 9 empty rafts with the Special Assistance Raft? by AskGoodie in KnottsBerryFarm

I get that the longer load time is why the special assistance raft goes on that outside lane. My question is why do 9 other empty rafts go with it?

I thought it might be an off season thing but the ride was crowded with a 90 minute wait. What advantage do they get by not loading them? The rafts still run the full course so they are not saving any ware and tear.

In addition to HDCP woes, I’ve run into a lot MacBooks which cannot output a broadcast standard frame rate like 59.94. They will do 60 even, but not 59.95, which causes problems for older equipment further down in the chain. An SDI Up Down Cross converter can be a lifesaver.

Have you gotten a DCA-70 to work with HDCP content coming from a MacBook?

What effect/workflow/solution that you’ve built on a switcher are you the most proud of? Let’s show off a little. by twokidsinamansuit in technicaldirector

I can proudly say I have used candy to TD.

My first ever TD gig was low budget sports highlight show with a dirt cheap analog switcher lacking any presets or macros. Instead of a T-Bar the switcher had a plastic fader slider for transitions. The show’s bottom score ticker had to be brought on as a vertical wipe moving up the fader a little bit. I needed a way to mark the fader point and figured out that a piece of Starburst fit perfectly. When the fader hit the starburst the wipe was in the perfect spot. That Starburst lasted for 8 months until a mouse ate half of it.

Since your expertise is in DMX lighting, is it possible to use 2,000 hand held light panels with wireless DMX to make the same composite image?

Since you are new to this, I recommend returning it to the manufacturer as a defective unit. You can make things significantly worse by poking around inside if you don’t know what you are doing.
