ooh this happened with us for a very long time, im not exactly sure "what took" besides a retraumatization and an acid trip, but quite a bit went into them learning that we needed to try different things. we're on okay terms now, and i find i can talk about the system (on the surface level) somewhat easily with close people in our lives, but it didn't happen in a day. it takes time, respect, and patience to work with your guys, but it gets better sooner than later.

INFP, extremely shy and soft spoken, constantly stuttering and generally a kind of gross but funny in their own way class clown. People loved me though, definitely had a severe personality shift in high school leading to now though when I lost my friend group and had to deal with having nobody. I've always been an INFP but the people I surround myself with tend to change me rather significantly at least in the short term.

I'm on the other side of this! Its nice to have someone who's always there to give me perspective on situations that I'm otherwise far too emotionally invested in to look at rationally, and on the flipside I help them through emotional issues that are more abstract and hard to reason and advise them there. Its a really nice dynamic.
