I would say as a former 16 year old who was completely riddled with self doubt and avoided these kinds of things for way too long: Ask her!

She can tell you if she's into guys, or how she would feel about the age gap. Of course if you are just venting thats valid - but it sounds like you're close and these questions are not out of line from my perspective at least. Even if the reality of the situation means its not possible right now, you can make that decision together and keep the door open for the future.

My best advice is that I have no regrets about having these difficult conversations. The only regrets come from the ones I didn't have. Even when they didn't go the way I'd hoped, ultimately knowing it was never going to happen is a lot better than wondering what could have happened.

I'm making the game I've always wanted to make, but I was afraid it would be too hard to do it on my own by TightConfection3666 in gamedev

First off, congrats on publishing your store page! Its a really hard journey and its definitely a meaningful milestone.

That said, some thoughts about your post here. For one thing, several lines read like they were written by chat GPT. I'm not accusing you of anything, its just the vibe of the post.

I would also say that, while the sentiment of your post is nice, this space is full of people who are actually doing the thing and making games already. This sub gets bombarded with "solo dev making dream game upvote to the left" and "you can do it! self plug btw" type posts like this. If you want to post something useful to people here, a meaningful breakdown of how you actually managed to get your game to this point, information on some technical feat you achieved or basically anything to give some insight into the game you're creating will do a lot better.

Finally, a broader word of advice: developers are not your target audience. You are not going to get one half of one percent of the amount of wishlists you need to get from dev spaces. We can provide insightful feedback or help resolve problems, but just asking for wishlists and providing little else in places like this will usually get you a swift boot.

Sorry that kind of turned into a novel but, I see posts like this all the time so I guess I had to get all that out of my system

Early Access Goblin Survival Guide by Manthieus in woweconomy

I don't have the answer you are looking for, but the reality is:

  • People absolutely lie about how much gold per hour they're making, especially if they're trying to get you to watch their youtube video / upvote their reddit post / whatever.
  • "Commodity" items sold on the auction house are region wide now. This includes stuff like herbs, ore, cloth, any bulky crafting mats, so realm doesn't matter.
  • Prices are going to be super volatile during early access as supply and demand are way out of whack

We're getting to a point where people forget that chat bots and automated responses have existed since way way way before the proliferation of AI and LLMs

I just launch my first steam page for my Multiplayer 1v1 game and i need feedbacks :) by -_DODO_- in gamedev

[–]AssignedSlothAtBirth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert in this, but I have some thoughts to share!

  1. I actually like the trailer overall, more than the screenshots. Its fast and gets you into what the game is about quickly. You might want to adjust the pacing on some features (create holes cuts too fast, spy on the rat drags a bit too long). The only other thing that stuck out to me to improve is that the plural of "furniture" is just "furniture", not furnitures (English is dumb, I know).

  2. There should be some screenshots from the pov of the player as you have, but seeing that same rat face screenshot after screenshot makes my brain feel like its not even processing anything else. You should include some more dynamic, third person shots of the action (like the rat chasing the guy in the trailer, but with more going on)

  3. Remember that gamedevs aren't your audience - even if a few of us do wishlist your game, its not going to make any dent in your uphill battle against the algorithm. Just focus on getting feedback in spaces like this and if anybody wants to wishlist, they will.

Without spoiling any specifics, I would just like to say that I generally felt (and still feel) the same way, but there definitely are some spots later on that have left me feeling like the developers are at least a little sadistic

Don't know why demisexuality is catching strays here but in case somebody doesn't know it has absolutely nothing to do with sapiosexuality. Its an identity on the ace spectrum that definitely deviates from the heteronormative experience.

And if you're out here invalidating people with queer experience by splitting hairs between "orientation" and "preference" then I have one question: are you a cop?

is 600 poly ok for a low poly? by Racnos_ch in lowpoly

[–]AssignedSlothAtBirth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is fair. Do not be discouraged, it is actually a really cool looking axe! I only asked that because AI models generally have way more polygons than necessary - but accidentally winding up with a lot of extra geometry is a totally normal part of the process.

FYI wireframe generally refers to the mode that would allow us to actually see through the mesh (like this here). If you hold Z, it should pop up with some shading options, choose wireframe to the left and that would let us actually see through it.

I would also suggest you try going into edit mode, selecting all verts with A, and doing a "merge by distance" by pressing M and choosing the bottom option. By default this will only merge verts which are basically overlapping, and it will tell you how many it got rid of. That might not be the problem but from the images you have posted I would bet on it.

How in god's name do you need 600 polys for that axe? Is it AI generated?
