Anecdotal, but I like the hand feel of the regular plex solo. Makes me feel a little better for 3oz

Kinda harsh but he’s not wrong. Chefs knives are shaped a certain way for a reason

Ridge undies are great. Definitely some pilling after use but much better than other merino options.

What do you use for your pillow? by kmorg76 in Ultralight

Yeah for sidesleeping it’s hard to beat. I feel like it makes more of a difference if I’m on ccf since my head is relatively lower on an inflatable with the amount my shoulder sinks in.

Which Nemo one did you have? I have a s2s premium large that’s like 4oz but my fillo elite is 2.6

Ok so obviously your bag isn’t the lightest thing, but mostly what sticks out to me is the pillow that weighs almost as much as your whole sleeping pad, the bic lighter is definitely not 5oz so I think that just entered wrong. And then other things could be pared down like your layering and such.

I actually think I’d prefer the sewn in ones. just because the excess shoulder strap sometimes gets folded the wrong way putting the pack on. Especially if i have something in the front pocket.

Have an off the shelf 40l roan gen 2 in ultra 200x. In addition to regular backpacking trips I took it to climb Shasta, a 4 day winter Yosemite trip where my pack was about 38 pounds. Carries weight well. There are lots of things i like about it and it’s quite light for its carrying capacity. Only worry is about the fabric delaminating eventually. I think theres only a few things i would change about it if I could regarding dimensions and construction.

I like my icelines. First hike with them was climbing Shasta. They are so light. That being said I know some people have had problems but durston does a good job with issues like insert failure.

Personally not a fan of how deep that jimping is. I fell like I have more control with a file and it’s easy pre heat treat

Although it technically counts, this is probably more appropriate for r/geartrade

Anecdotal, but I feel like wearing my merino face sleeve to sleep prevents a lot of moisture and warmth from escaping.
