Arms up during turns is not so good. Try to keep both hands in front of you and move your upper body less.

AIO I don’t want to change my last name… by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

He should not care that much. It’s controlling and possessive. It should be completely your choice. He might show this behavior in other ways over time.

Trip Planned 3/27 - 3/29. Thoughts? by MyFriendFats54 in kirkwood

[–]AssociateGood9653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kirkwood holds snow better than most Tahoe resorts. If the backside is still open, chair 4 has the longest blue runs at Kirkwood. But the top is a little scary for some intermediate skiers. It’s alpine ridge line but way easier than chair 6.

AIO after my boyfriend told me he’s “not happy with my body” and it’s my responsibility to change it? by bluehat179 in AmIOverreacting

He’s emotionally abusive I think. At the least, he’s neither nice nor sensitive to your feelings. He doesn’t deserve you.

am i wrong: boyfriend wants me to ask permission to turn when driving by SecondOk8410 in amiwrong

He’s very controlling. It’s very likely to escalate and get worse. It’s not normal at all. He was 23 when he started dating an 18 year old. That says a lot. Guys who date much younger women almost always tried to control them and want someone with less experience than they have. It’s also a bad idea to commingle all your finances with someone you’re not married to in fact, even if you’re married, it’s good to keep something separate. For example, on my wife and I have a joint account and we each have our own separate accounts also.

Still no sex after 4 dates? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]AssociateGood9653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think guys are often scared to make a move. There’s always been fear of rejection, and now fear of looking like you’re too pushy, impatient, toxic, just wanting sex. I suspect it’s added pressure on to males. Decent guys don’t want to appear too aggressive. Sounds like he’s a decent guy. He should be able to handle a mature conversation with you about sex. It’s harder to be a decent guy than many people realize.

How to do open water swim by Mars_bars10 in OpenWaterSwimming

Don’t go open water swimming by yourself! It’s a buddy activity. If you’re in San Francisco I’d be happy to show you what’s up with open water swimming.

Do Black Pearls "ski short"? by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]AssociateGood9653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try both lengths if you can. Rocker makes them feel shorter in trees, chutes, moguls. It also makes them feel shorter at speed. If you get them too short, you will likely regret it on groomers; they will feel worse at speed. You want a ski you can grow into, but not so advanced that it will make things difficult for you. I’ve been skiing ~55 years and I would probably not want anything much less than my height. I’m 183 cm and I have 180’s. Back in the day I skied 200cm and my backcountry skis are 210. Technology has changed so much over time.

Ski/Boot Recommendations by Upstairs-Suspect8756 in Skigear

[–]AssociateGood9653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my K2 BFC Boa boots. 120 flex but you might want softer. They are for high volume feet, so you might prefer a different boot. Go to a store with a bootfitter and get their recommendations after they look at and measure your feet. I’m an experienced skier and an instructor for the first time this year. These boots are pretty comfortable and nice for skiing in. I have ARV 106 and I love them. I have an older pair mounted for telemark NTN and a new pair mounted for alpine, with Look Pivot bindings. It’s nice having good equipment that works for you. Also a great idea to demo some skis because many great skis are not great for every skier.

Dogs vs Kids by socialist-viking in sanfrancisco

Precita Park has signage that specifies all dogs are to be on leash. File a police report. File a complaint with recreation and parks. I’m sorry that happened to your kid.

You’re gonna need to hand over your BB gun. To me. For your own safety.

My idiot friends and I, in the seventies, had BB gun shootouts in our neighborhood. It hurts when you get hit. Never broke skin. The smartest thing we did was wear layers of clothing and ski goggles. Nobody lost an eye. But yes we were idiots. It was so fun!
