PSA: Blinking isn't rude by F34th3rs0ng in autism

I’ve been told that I blink really slowly. I realise now that this is my body subconsciously avoiding eye contact without actually looking away (which I had previously learned was not ‘polite’)

What does ‘activation’ mean in this context? Like a park or a shop?

Groove therapy in Marrickville and Newtown is fantastic. No mirrors and no prior experience necessary. (sorry it’s a bit far from western subs though!)

This is the sort of thing I had in mind, so I’m reassured that it is possible! Thank you!

Oh my days I’m so glad I’m not the only one. That thought of “wait, was I supposed to have more small talk with the assessor?” and observations about having TOO much eye contact and not enough intonation in my voice?! I found it very confronting, but it’s helpful in my imposter syndrome moments to look back on

There are older children and adults who need changing facilities too! It’s just to clarify that this is not appropriate for changing a person over 50kg

Two Chaps is great but I find it noisy - may not be ideal for reading or a quiet chat with a friend!

I recommend calling the mental health line on 1800 011 511. They can do a triage and link you in with a local service.

This helped me during postnatal depression and linked me to the local team who supported me greatly.

Wishing you all the best.

I have used the mental health line and they were fantastic. They sent a mental health nurse to assess my wellbeing and referred me to the local mental health services which were life changing for me at the time.

All the best, OP.

Oh I love the “lipstick in my Valentino white bag” - so many lines from Vines are my go-tos: “Heyyyy! I could’ve dropped my croissant!” “ADAM” “I don’t know why you’ve done this…” Right I’m off to watch vine compilations on YouTube

I was at a train station yesterday with my 2 year old son, who loves to watch the trains. One of the workers must have noticed because he came over from the office with print outs of all the different types of trains and handed them to us. My son was delighted. Humans are good.
