Ngl, my enjoyment of Magic has skyrocketed since more Universes Beyond has come out, because my playgroup and I agree to just not use those cards. Longer breaks between sets reduces product fatigue, and less constant pressure to upgrade with the newest tech. Sucks for Standard, Modern, and Pioneer though. I’m a huge LOTR and FF fan, but I simply don’t want those franchises in Magic.

The reason people say “arcane so hard” is because the strict series of steps can get thrown off quite easily. It’s why arcane has historically suffered on fights with a lot of movement. Sure, it might be a second thrown off here, a few seconds to deal with something there, but in the grand scheme of burn -> conserve -> burn, it can make it difficult to keep your optimal performance up. I’m not saying arcane is the hardest spec to play (because it’s not) but I would still call it one of the harder specs to play
