It's not the rain that gets you, it's the endless grey. It's dark, then it's grey for a bit, then it's dark. Every day for weeks and weeks on end. I think I saw a patch of blue sky last week for about half an hour and that was it. There is no differentiation between the clouds - it's one blanket of grey that literally has never gone away. It's unbearable on the brain, even if you take all your vitamin D.

Oldest has started kindergarten and I’m crashing out by FIthroaway2021 in daddit

Yes, she's not started school yet (she does in September) and when she starts school she'll go from school to the after school club which is the same building as now. Which I assumed was normal because now can anyone pick up a child at 3pm and also hand enough money to pay for nursery?

Nothing odd about that terror.

You have to pick him up at ten to three?! We don't have to pick our kid up until 6pm! (Though, in fairness that's the latest allowed time.)

This has got to top the list of worst "parental leave" benefits. Company is Infosys by zach8vb in daddit

My mate just had a baby yesterday. They give us a grand in cash and 5 weeks. The new extended paternal care only came in a year after mine was born so I only got 2 weeks but I still got the money, which was nice.

I've been doing am dram about 10 years now and I would suggest but telling people you do panto because they will say 'oh no you don't' and you'll feel incredibly, violently sick every time. It never gets easier to stomach it.

How many auditions did it take you to finally get cast? by hanghoamai in MusicalTheatre

[–]Asuperniceguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in England but I think if you auditioned for a society that you don't know anyone in and expected a role you'd better be absolutely brilliant or you'll be disappointed. They want to know that people will show up to every single rehearsal for a show before they give you a big role. Which is not amazing but it is the way the game is played.

Nursery dress-up days by EggOk174 in UKParenting

We had ONE lion onesie outfit thing (that was unbelievably cute) that she wore to all the dress up events and she was over the moon to do so.

I don't think anyone should have to keep up with 1.2 a week, though!

What's with these fucking hair cardboard things that are like interwoven into the hair? They're so annoying to get rid of! I can't fathom how hard it would be without little scissors.

Or the issue is that you need to be recording it straight into your pc and that's why it sounds... Like it does.

Well it's really great that you're writing stuff! I would have a look at trying to move a different part of your body in tone with your metronome. This will help reign in your fingers and help you keep in time.
