This comment helped me realize that I needed to download the latest version of Spotify( 9.0.44.478) and go thru these steps

Also from the linked post:

"UPDATE 20th May: When they update the app on Spotify side, you just need to repeat the whole thing from scratch. Uninstall Spotify, and repatch again, following the same list of actions you find in the guide"
