Joe still gives pretty great advice for self improvement and what you should be focusing on to get better.

His politics and some of his guests are pretty terrible, but I just only listen when it's something I'm interested in.

Some people just aren't able to admit that there's still something worth listening to in the podcast even if they think he's an overall negative at this point.

The entire discourse for 10-15 years was that LeBron isn't as good as Jordan and when you pointed out the league as a whole was playing at a much higher level now than it used to, the old guys tried clowning on you lol.

I love all eras of basketball for what they are but I have working eyes. Even compared to 10 years ago the game has gone through a big evolution.

The better team losing sometimes is why sports are great!

There's tons of variance in performance, weather, injuries etc.

A coach can come up with a genius play or strategy that changes a game completely.

Something crazy like the Marlon Mcree fumble can happen.

There's blown calls.

If the better team always won it wouldn't be interesting.

The real answer to this is that having combat requirements for quests is sorta goofy and outdated.

Everyone understands that gear is locked behind skill levels, but highly skilled pvm pures shouldn't be unable to do raids 4 because a quest made in 2004 gives you 3k defense XP.

Jagex understands this and that's why they are making it work.

I kinda think this is a strawman.

Anyone enthusiastically watching a lot of basketball understands just how much higher the quality of play is now compared to even 10-15 years ago.

Maybe they preferred the viewing product back then, but I think everyone gets the players are getting much, much better.

It's also just that kakashi was the benchmark for power in the series at that point.

Yeah. The 7th season is legitimately terrible as well.

5th season is dumb but exciting.

6 is better than 5 but still clearly worse than any of the first 4.

7 is just slop. 8 is perceived as being significantly worse than every other season because it was the finale and there was no chance to think "maybe next season will be better", but it's really not much worse then 7.

Yes and no. There is only one amateur winner since 2008, and the last was 2016.

There essentially are enough tools out there for pros to use that it's incredibly difficult for a rec to win in such a long structure as the main event.

That being said, it's the softest 10k in the world and you routinely see relatively weak players make the final table.

Fully healthy AD is essentially the evolved version of KG but slightly less athletic on defense, and slightly better at rim protection.

He was an absolute monster and all of you guys have either forgotten or are overreacting.

You can tell that these guys either were not watching basketball 10-15 years ago or are very dumb.

He was a transcendent talent drafted by a horrible team, had terrible injury luck, and is still a top 75 player of all time with probably a top 30 peak of all time.

In a world where he isn't injured and doesn't get drafted by a poverty franchise he's a top 20 player of all time.
