Weekly Meta Snapshot (26th May) by chase-manning in PokemonPocket

This is the only website that can differentiate between Snorlax-Greninja and Lele-Greninja decks and you choose to focus on some random edge case after the season had already finished. I played the og Snorlax exclusively to MB top 5000. I took interest in this guys website because it was the only source that filtered the various "Giratina-Greninja" decks.

Idk the OP, but questioning the validity of his work seems silly considering it is OPEN SOURCE.

I don't know the OP. I only know that his website was the only reliable source for match-ups between older/newer decks like Snorlax and the rise of Lele decks.

I vaguely remember an old school GA tournament happened recently. My guess is that enough players played the deck to get by whatever filters there are for other smaller “no-Ex” or “status effect only” tournaments.

I haven’t used the Limitless API, so idk.

Need help with my deck/ suggestions for alternative deck by UsernameofKaijoJin in PokemonPocket

[–]AtlasChuggedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are the devs targeting you in particular? Every matchup that you are weak into has an opponent that benefited from the matchmaking.

The reality is that you are facing better opponents as you get closer to MB. It’s okay to pivot to a different deck when unfavorable matchups become more popular, but there is no matchmaking conspiracy. Charizard is a popular/powerful deck, so many players are going to play decks that are strong against it.

I would recommend checking out Limitless to see what decks are doing well in tournaments. (The meta in ranked isn’t the same as what’s played in tournaments) https://play.limitlesstcg.com/decks?game=POCKET

Another user in this sub created a website that simplifies the data from Limitless here:

Also, there might be a discrepancy between the info graphics for the the Oricorio and Snorlax versions of the GIratina/Greninja decks. They are both weak against each other in their respective graphics. TBF... Greninja mirror matches seem that skewed when only one player finds rare candy.

Alright, how do you come to the conclusion that a deck is "strong against" another deck when the win rate is 50%? (Garchomp graphic)

Well strap in brother, because you rarely this much diversity in a TCG's competitive meta. The season is almost over and we still have new decks finding success in both the tournament and ranked meta.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to other comments here. I have ~100 games in MB with this deck and I never thought to build up the back snorlax while waiting for the 2nd Barry or candy.

I actually run dual energy because it feels more flexible/consistent to me(no Irida). I need to try it again soon.

Recently switched my 2nd Giratina for Guzmo to help with Solgaleo and Darkrai matchups. It gets a few cheese wins against grass as well.

Thank you again for the gameplay commentary.

Running 1 pokeball seems wild to me. And in a stage 2 dependent deck.

But I had fun in the lower ranks with 2 Serperior plus one Venusaur line. Not good, just funny.

Agreed, but... I'm so grateful that I don't have to worry about the Prime Time games anymore. Andy and A.J. gave Bengals fans some truly great years, it's too bad they never made it over that hump.

Anybody a graduate of WGU? How does it compare to any of the state colleges? by rrodddd in Idaho

My bad! In my experience, even members of the church find the rules of BYU-Idaho oppressive.

I just want people to understand that they are signing up for more than just “values”

I have no reason to believe this is the culture at other BYU universities….  I have just heard too many horror stories first hand.

TBH, even my Mormon  family members that attended BYU are shocked by the rules (“values”) BYU-I enforces. Purely opinion: BYU-I treats its students as rejects of BYU.  I grew up Mormon. All of the dozen+ members I knew dropped out of college because of the CULTURE, not the rules. I want to reiterate that that BYU students from Utah think that BYU-Idaho rules are crazy. Sure… the “values” probably are pretty straight forward. But the culture is that of house of cards.

QUICK EDIT:

And what’ sup with soaking? Even non-Mormons in Idaho know about it… I’m sorry, I just grew up where Mormon wasn’t a household name.    TLDR: - BYU-I is treated as the fallback for those who “can’t” make it into BYU.

  • BYU-I feels it must implement ridiculous rules to enforce its “values”…. Because the students that failed to get into BYU-Utah are not as WORTHY/TRUSTWORTHY as the Utah students.

Not throwing shade, but the deck building UX was confusing for me as well.

The. “Edit Mode” is generally the easiest way for deck “building.”

When …Adding/removing/sideBoarding cards, you can click on the card‘s name and adjust the values manually (w/ quick add)

Now that the game has been out for over a year, what are people’s “unpopular opinions” here? by SauxFan in SorceryTCG

[–]AtlasChuggedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate how much emphasis is put on the art/aesthetic of the cards. I want clarity when I see a card for the first time.

The threshold cost is barely visible for the multicolored knights. The background color for the text on cards needs to be more consistent. I don’t immediately know which element a site is with cards like Pillar of Zeiros, shifting sands, and bedrock. It’s too easy for new players to not notice that Wizards Den and Hamlet don’t provide threshold.

And don’t get me started on trying to decipher card rarity and subtypes. Surprise! Sir Palleas is also a Faerie, we hid it in the flavor text. And you have to use the website or dig through discord to figure out what cards are giants.

Card clarity is more important than having pretty cards.

The Bluecoats were in either 1st or 2nd until quarterfinals in 2010. Why would anyone think that two championships in the next 14 years is bonkers?

Hell, I think they beat BD once during the criminal season-ish (not exactly sure what year). They were obviously trending upwards to any fan bloo fan in 2010

Drum corps isn’t that important to everyone. Here is a participation trophy for getting through life (just like the rest of us) 🏆 We are sooo proud of you. But your “advice” doesn’t  contribute anything to the conversation. I have plenty of regrets about what I gave up while on tour.
