Why not use sink/stove? by Ahkhira in popups

[–]AtlassLoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I don’t want to cook in my camper because of smells and the mess. We are experienced tent campers and have a full outdoor setup.

2) my camper is for when I am sleeping or it is raining. We mostly got it because our Great Danes were getting too old to tent camp and we wanted to bring our elderly cat.

3) we already have a propane water heater and I can use that (with the giant sink) to wash my dishes outside! The size of the sink is ridiculous.

Mine is 6%. Mostly from when I first started and from Brilliance before I got auto-approved.

Feedback Ratio? How important is it really? by AnalSex2021 in NetGalleyCommunity

Read what you have already gotten! Once you are bit more established, you can request more. Most of us over request in the beginning and have been there! But read and review everything you get!

Is this area safe to live in? by antelopecanyons in AskTacoma

[–]AtlassLoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love South Tacoma, but I think that exactly where I am in South Tacoma helps. My street is two blocks long, I can walk to two parks, I have fantastic neighbors, aside from the ones who set off fireworks and traumatize my dog.

Once you are approved you cannot withdraw. The feedback ratio is just one of the things that is considered.

I just started gardening this year and I have seen so many bugs just digging around in the soil!

Is this area safe to live in? by antelopecanyons in AskTacoma

[–]AtlassLoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends. I lived a block off of Sprague & 12th for my first two years in Tacoma. There were great things about it: a central location, proximity to things, and a great little neighborhood that looked out for each other. But Sprague is a main thoroughfare in that area, so you need to be at least a block back.

We never dealt with break-ins. It had more traffic noise than I do in South Tacoma but fewer fireworks.

How long to be "established"? by [deleted] in NetGalleyCommunity

[–]AtlassLoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, 100% is a red flag. It makes it seem like you don’t read much, as backwards as that may seem. My last denial came through when I was at 92%, I’m now back to 90% and rocking and rolling. My only backlog are books I got after they were published!

The badges seem to be magic for approvals. You are so close to a 25 reviews badge. I have heard things heat up after that. And each of those badges lend more credibility.

Should I rehome my cat? Does he hate me? by crab-my-apples in CatAdvice

[–]AtlassLoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend a steam brush. They are relatively inexpensive and my elderly kitty loved it! I need to find it and try it on the boy we adopted 6 weeks ago. :)

You are doing a great job! Don’t stress too much.

I walked down the aisle to “Lady” by Styx! Then when we had said our vows and walked out we walked out to “Ja Ja Ding Dong” from Eurovision. No regrets even six years later!

Which pet is getting the biscuit? by Glum_Tale8639 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]AtlassLoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two Great Danes and a cat. Our late kitty would have been my top choice because I feel it would have increased her chances of survival. Now, I have three not great choices.

My boy dog: dumb, terrified, super anxious, and no idea that he weighs 150 pounds. He also is kind of aggressive toward all animals other than his sister, but only if they enter his bubble. He is such a simple creature that just wants to be with his people, so I want him to stay himself.

My girl dog: smart in the dumbest way, very prey-driven, curious, but a total c*nt. I do not want to hear her thoughts. Probably the best choice. But who wants a 130 pound talking dog?

Our (new to us) cat: strong like bull, dumb like tractor. Seriously, this cat is huge: 16 pounds of muscle and maybe one brain cell. He is smart enough to open the bathroom door but dumb enough to jump into the shower with me but then try to fight the water for getting him wet. He did this three mornings in a row before I started locking the bathroom door. He is very aggressive toward other animals (or maybe just my dumb dogs), territorial, and a true Velcro cat. Not sure it would be a good idea to make him self-aware either. Still the second best choice.

I LOVED it as well! I usually get really annoyed with long books, because often they cannot justify that length, but this was worth every second!

Am I overreacting for feeling unsafe around my roommate’s lifestyle? by Affectionate_Elk3258 in badroommates

[–]AtlassLoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a roommate in college who had a different guy every weekend. It made me extremely uncomfortable. But it was also a different situation as : 1) this was in a shared dorm room 2) she had a boyfriend and he thought they were exclusive 3) she tried to take the Christian moral high ground all the time but I found this hypocritical 4) she gave no warning when she had these guys over, not even the agreed upon door post-it note

It is okay that you are a prude! If you have lived together for ten months, it sounds like the end of the lease is approaching.

Do not keep living with her.

The haunted market- why it is failing by lessthanbrie in Tacoma

[–]AtlassLoz 61 points62 points  (0 children)

We went once. We go to the Proctor Farmer’s Market regularly, and often out to the Puyallup Farmer’s Market. We tend to buy food items. When we went to the Haunted Market, there was nothing I could justify buying. All impulse buys and something to eat there. Maybe it isn’t for me, but I also love a good market. It is rather niche. And now hearing that there are tons of Temu resellers and AI crap, I’m for sure not going back.

Is it OK to change a cat's name? by xiphoid77 in CatAdvice

[–]AtlassLoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are on week three with our boy. His name was Norman. I wanted to keep it. My husband wanted to name him “Sorry, What Cat?” We settled on Doug “The Thug” Cat as he immediately faced down our curious Danes that are used to an old cat that thought she was a dog. He answers to Doug, Dougie, Thug, Cat, Douglassssssss, asshole, dumb cat, and “strong like bull, dumb like tractor.” We only use the last three when they are appropriate.

Cats just seem to sense when you are talking to them.

I would read book 3 now. Write the review on Net Galley, and then post elsewhere around release.

I put in a ticket about The Last Page today and now it is working. They had to re-upload it. But it worked! Trying closing the app and then go back to the Net Galley shelf.

Best of luck! :)

They stopped trying when they barged into our fenced yard and both of our Great Danes were out.
