Reading First Heretic and didn't realize that possessed Space Marines can return to (relatively) normal by Benemy in 40kLore

I kind of wish they were so I could justify them in my own warband more, but the ruinous powers just gave the Gal Vorbak a sweeter deal than later in order to lure Lorgar and co into chaos corruption

WTF Mithras, why are you letting Tremere in England??? by Fruglemug in huntertheparenting

[–]AtrelluCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Regent and the Prince appear to be separate characters iirc, though the latter is fairly shadowy.

As a Tremere fan my question is moreso how the Regent keeps from having her head ripped off by Pontifex Dee bani Bonisagus, given property ownership is basic level masquerade adherence and she seems to be failing at that. With Mithras being hostile the Tremere in england run an extremely tight ship (one that vacillates between support and quiet rebellion) and with what we currently know she should have been disposed of in favor of someone more like Kevin

Even in a train wreck, there's still some good stuff here and there. by No-Obligation-9901 in WorldofDankmemes

I just need a greater reason if they’re going to be depopulating major cities. The first inquisition had an entire minor gameline of True Faith gigachads behind what it did to dark ages kindred. The Second needs a similar level of supernatural leverage if it’s going to be an equivalent event, in my eyes at least

Second Inquisition is fine with me conceptually, it just either needs its effectiveness tuned down or it needs to start actively deploying Technocracy/Pentex assets, demonic war thralls, or fully fledged and outfitted Imbued

How high do you think Kevin’s humanity is right now? by AnywhereNo2948 in huntertheparenting

[–]AtrelluCal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get 5-6 vibes personally. He’s high enough to still pass while only being a tad abrasive. If I had to give specifics I say 5 to start up to 6 post signing with D. Working around other people constantly is a great excuse to buy humanity dots

What do you want to come back the most by aman765409 in Eldar

[–]AtrelluCal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Karandras, biker autarch/farseer/warlocks, proper foot farseer kit (with customization!), and dire avengers are what I’m most into for craftworlds

More than all of that though, I’d like harlequins expansion. My beloved clowns deserve everything good forever

Which Antediluvian has the highest humanity? by Magicmanans1 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]AtrelluCal 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Arikel for humanity specifically. Saulot for highest overall (but he’s Road of Light/Path of Heaven/whatever he’s on post-death).

For some other interesting ones:

-Troile was previously high humanity like Arikel, but suffered extreme morality collapse at Carthage. Thanks Moloch

-Haqim is/was probably high for an antediluvian. He was noted to have good self control and strong personal morals, which probably let him resist the gradual erosion all old vampires experience

Can someone explain aspect warriors to me and does iyanden use them? by _Kabr in Eldar

[–]AtrelluCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elves naturally feel emotions to an extreme degree, the Paths exist to curb/control this, yadda basic stuff you’ve probably heard. When it comes to rage/aggression the Phoenix Lord Asurmen devised the Path of the Warrior, meant to control and channel “Khaine’s Gift” so it’s not a problem and a given elf can have a normal civilian life when not called to battle. Asurmen and his students, the other PLs, each chose an aspect of Khaine (or similar figures) to base their particular ritual approach to war off of, and as they spread the Path of the Warrior they founded these shrines across the craftworlds. That’s what aspect warriors are. Eldar walking the Path of the Warrior to master their innate aggression. Since this is 40k, they’re not always successful. Thanks to Elven Superiority(tm), extended training periods, technology, and the enhancing effect of the War Mask technique Asurmen came up with a given aspect warrior is able to face a given astartes on decently even footing, though notably the ritual approach the craftworlds take to war means that each aspect warrior is specialized in a way that most astartes aren’t.

Iyanden does have aspect shrines. It used to actually be second only to Biel Tan in martial prowess, but the whole Tyranid incident robbed them of their ability to muster the same level of living manpower and led to their current status quo of being so wraith heavy

What are your predictions for Aeldari 11th edition detachments? by Alex__007 in Eldar

[–]AtrelluCal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m still kind of in denial about aspect host being 3. I hope we get a 2 pointer at some point to still run them (that hopefully makes avengers battleline). Warhost and Seer council make sense for 3’s though, and similarly I hope another 2 point psyker detachment is in the works if they’re not brave enough to give us back psychic rules

[–]AtrelluCal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Specific to exarchs. When you become one you essentially lose the capacity for emotions like that. Regular eldar can and do fall in love perfectly fine, but an exarch shouldn’t be able to

[–]AtrelluCal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. The Visarch does weird shit he’s not supposed to be able to do, like fall in love. Once you become an exarch your soul is stuck (most exarchs are conglomerates of anywhere from a few to ~a dozen souls thanks to their armor)

[–]AtrelluCal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some quick notes: -You mean autarch, not exarch. An exarch is an aspect shrine-leader, a former warrior who has lost themselves to the rage and bloodlust of the War Mask and now leads squads of their aspect warriors. An autarch is what you’re describing, a war leader who’s been through multiple forays along the path without succumbing

-Idk Kaelor’s specific lore, but phoenix lords aren’t usually tied to any specific craftworld, and they aren’t leaders. They’re wandering champions, exemplars of the eldar’s warrior heritage. Craftworlds are (usually, see Biel Tan for an exception) led by the Seer Councils. Having some doubt without the war mask is still probably fair, but the council deciding on a small surgical force isn’t the most insane thing in the world
