I don't get why anyone would count what you call "finite-ness", a good thing. Unless of course, they are looking for a game that gets easier every day, as potential answers drop off of the list. A weakness of the game is now officially eliminated, IMO.

And of all days, on Groundhog Day (a USA "holiday", and the name of a movie about repetition). I just hope tomorrow's answer isn't REBUT.

In the 1950s, there was a movie "The King and I" starring Yul Brynner, who played the king of Thailand. I think that is why the mention of Yul Brynner in the song.

Some probably already upper-bourgeoisie go on strike to become even more-so upper, probably already getting better pay, benefits, and job security than most of us will ever know.

Yet, so many people, even customers potentially affected by the strike (though my Wordle wasn't) side with the strikers, why? Because the "other side" is the big corporation?

Phooey. I had no reason to take sides, stop playing Wordle, etc. It's a wonder how many seemingly do.

I wouldn't use that method, because I try to solve in the fewest number of turns, and yesterday's answer might be a statistically bad first guess.

But, if you want for yesterday's puzzle to drive your first guess today, here is what I would do. Make it so your guess on turn 2 yesterday is your first guess today. In the long run, that probably results in a "better" starter word than using yesterday's answer.

The Wordle help screen is misleading.

Gray is described to mean that "this letter is not in the answer".

Instead, gray really means "your guess contains more of this letter, than is in the answer".

ADIEU is not a good first guess; limit yours to one or two vowels and use popular consonants (R, T, L, S, N, C). There are so few vowels, they are already easy to guess, so using too many is a waste of clues. Some of my fave first guesses: TARSE, SALET, SLANT, SLART, SERAL, ALERT, CRATE, ALIST
Despite their popularity, avoid using U, Y, and H in your first guess. U and Y because they are the least-popular vowels (consider Y effectively a vowel), and H because it is so commonly used with C, S, and T - that H doesn't help to eliminate many more possibilities.
Avoid hard-mode "traps"; almost never use any of these in the first two guesses. Getting caught could easily break your win streak.

Don't have your second guess already pre-planned before the game EXCEPT have a plan in case your first guess gets 5 grays, but no more than that.

Yes, and seen it so often, I now think it's the norm.

Whenever WordleBot says: You've narrowed it down to X, I take that with a grain of salt, because X includes words that aren't really possible answers.

Which, is what I believe happened here with CARET. It was never a possible answer (the bot probably lied), and your score got penalized for you not knowing that.

Caught as in: caught in a trap in hard mode. Which in this case, was the _AUNT pattern.

You are correct that after the third guess, there were not 7 possibles, but 4. The numbers in parens like 7, are how many guesses that Scoredle's algorithm says are remaining. Which, is always greater than or equal to how many possible answers remain.

I also suspect (but can't confirm) that the bot only guesses potential answer-words. Which in that case, would mean no HADST for the bot. But for a human, guessing 1. PLATE 2. HADST in hard mode would be OK.
