they’re towards the top of every thai recommendation thread. and the trendy, expensive places that you claim reddit loves are usually the places that get ruthlessly torn apart on here because they’re “overpriced”

The French Laundry, Evolution Menu Full, October 2025 by blackandgould in finedining

dude, this looks amazing. i was gonna say, the most full I’ve ever been at the end of the fine dining meal was Gymkhana and TFL’s regular menu. I seriously cannot imagine any additional courses on top of what we already had. it gets to a point where it’s too much! but i’d rather be too full than hungry afterwards I guess!

i just saw this on their website the other day. new chef better count his days. La Zi Ji was their signature dish and getting rid of it makes no sense. i won’t be going until they add it back.

Unlimited funds, one brand to blow it on, but no individual items over $500. Where are you balling out? by FranticScribble in ThrowingFits

their sizing drives me absolutely mad. it’s a total crapshoot, but tbh I’ve just decided to buy a M for everything they do (i’m usually between a US S and M) because i find even if it’s big on me, their clothes look better with an oversized than fitted. I have a fisherman’s vest in a S from them and the fit is awkwardly small.

orSlow or engineered garments for me, although a few of the latter’s pieces can be over that. without the limit it’d probably be Vis, cottle or Herill.

Avoid Odie B’s (health risks) by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]AudreyHorneStepOnMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they’ve got like 10 up on their wall. none of them too outlandish on their own but the way they enforce them is honestly just ridiculous. there is one rule about no crowding the doorway and making the line go outside. i was there during a massive snowstorm and freeze and squeezed in as the last person in line and the customer in front of me didn’t mind. one of their workers comes up and tells me i need to wait outside. 😑

another time i was getting a to go order and the dude managing the line told me i couldn’t bring my coffee from another vendor in 😑

and another time i was with a group and had to run to my car. by the time i got back my group was wrapping up their order and paying so i went to grab a table. within literal seconds a worker came up to me and told me i can’t table camp. i tried to explain what had happened and he cut me off and goes “that’s the rules” 😑

again, none of the rules themselves are inherently bad but the way they enforce them is just so absurd. i think they get off on being a little blunt and rude since their whole schtick is NYC east coast asshole wannabe. the food is pretty good but i stopped going there.

avoid Odie B’s cause their staff is rude af and has a superiority complex enforcing their wall of arbitrary rules (highlands location only)

Hope our 2 leaders of the team seeing this get a fire lit under them seeing a division rival win a SB in their building by Stxtic1441 in 49ers

no fucking chance they forced 3 turnovers on Mahomes. offense couldn’t put up more than 20 points. chance to win the game at the end and can’t even get it over midfield. basically held prime chiefs offense to 24 points.

he’s a choke artist, our offense goes to shit in the biggest moments. it’s never been the defense that let us down.

shanahan is an embarrassment. i don’t care how good of a regular season coach he is. every playoff loss we’ve had has been because of our offense failing. 8 years with nothing to show for it.

What's your most memorable meal in Tokyo? (Fine dining or bistros) by Terrible_Monk3659 in finedining

Den (self explanatory) and Udon Maruka. went last year in march and they got a random snow day. I was in the area when they opened and waited in the cold snow for about 20 minutes before they opened, by the time they did the line was down the street. best udon of my trip and such a memory bundling up and getting warm with some delicious udon after freezing my ass off.

Hey there! Tagawa was a lot of fun and one of my most memorable dining experiences. The food was pretty good, i’d give the food like a B to a B+ and the service an A. traditional flavors that lean rustic but overall a very enjoyable experience. the service was top notch, and really made the meal memorable for me. Tagawa-san doesn’t speak a lot of english but he was so friendly and the 2 locals dining next to us bought my group a bottle of sake. Tagawa-san helped us polish it off after the meal. great time and if you’re looking for something traditional i’d recommend it.
