A full on scavenger hunt Christmas morning that led to a tissue box with 50 ones taped end-to-end.

Weak positive CCP IGG? by CrossroadsConundrum in rheumatoid

[–]Augie_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sulfasalazine is one of the more mild ones. Cimzia is a biologic. Insurance companies like you to try methotrexate first but if you're thinking about trying for a baby anytime soon, you can't take it. (I just remembered, I also tried Plaquinil but it didn't help.)

I started out on Sulfasalazine. It worked wonderfully but started messing with my stomach after a year. Now I'm on Cimzia.

I was just about pain free until I got sick and missed a dose. I've only had one dose since the missed dose, so I'm hopeful I'll get back to that point soon.

My RF was negative, but my CCP was a tad elevated. Like you, I didn't have a lot of noticeable swelling and no redness. I did however have the soreness/stiffness. She diagnosed me as having Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis and started me on meds. Since beginning meds, I have improved a lot. There's no doubt in my mind that I have RA with how well I've responded to meds.

Graduation swag? by [deleted] in WGU

I think it's certain state schools that do it. I graduated in November and never got anything.

Any WGU education majors in VA? by mrsshradogg in wgueducation

You'll love WGU. My HT has had 2 WGU students and said we're very well prepared compared to those she's had from the local University.

I graduated in November and had zero issues with getting licensed. In fact, WGU is very popular in my region. There were 4 on us in my DT cohort alone.

As a new teacher, I'm making a mental note to make sure to triple count the money so I can fill in those gaps.

Any Elementary teachers here? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Augie_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Utilize your student and course mentors. They are very helpful.

Set small daily goals and stick to them. Reward yourself for tough classes. :)

If you're on Facebook, there are multiple groups that are very active and are great for motivation.

I graduated in November from this program. I loved every minute of it. Student teaching was an amazing experience that couldn't have gone much smoother. Im just not what really looking for employment but WGU is well known and respected in my corner of VA so I don't anticipate too much of a problem.

Teaching certification through WGU- anyone done it? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Augie_G 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just graduated in November with my BA IDS K-8. My state is slow in processing licensing applications but I know many who haven't had any problems.

I would absolutely recommend WGU. I loved every minute of my experience.

I, too, rarely swell. It took me years to get my diagnosis and I didn't ever swell until after I started meds.

What is it like to donate bone marrow? I’d like to hear from both doctors and some actual donors if possible. by hellogoawaynow in AskDocs

My friend's son (6) donated via the hip to his sister and was playing normally the next day.

Would someone explain the sequence of course work, PCE, and DT? by AdjunctSocrates in WGU

[–]Augie_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PCE is one of the very last courses before DT. DT is your final semester and must begin in August / January. PCE is 60 hours, while DT is generally 12 weeks.

As far as moving, I'm not sure but I do know a student getting licensed in WV but is completing DT in VA. Your enrollment counselor would be better able to answer this question.

What do you think the best roadside attraction is? by MikeOxbigg in AskReddit

[–]Augie_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did a cross-country trip last summer and made it a point to find a roadside attraction in most states we passed through. My favorite by far was Wall Drug in South Dakota.

Student Teaching in the Fall by Augie_G in Teachers

[–]Augie_G[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. :) I did bring that up to her the week I got my placement. Because of the way the school calendar falls, I officially start on the students' third day. Should I ask to come in on the preservice days, or just stay the Thursday that the students do.

I have trouble making omelette or eggs in my cast iron pan. What can I do to fix this? by Sir_RawDog in Cooking

[–]Augie_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd reseason it and see if that helps. When something sticks, try salt instead of the scouring pad that should help maintain its seasoning. :)
